For a limited time,Alien: Isolationfans will be able to purchase a special “Collection” edition of the game specifically for the Switch, with a choice of three versions to choose from. Regarded by many to beone of the most terrifying horror gamesof the older generation, if not of all time, Creative Assembly’s 2014 interpretation of theAlienfranchise was a beacon of hope. After the flop that wasColonial Marines,Isolationshowed that it was possible to make a terrifying video game in Dan O’Bannon’s universe.
Given that it’s been nearly 10 years since the game launched, many arewondering whether anAlien: Isolation 2could be on the horizon. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any follow-up in the pipeline, with the developer currently focusing on its upcoming space shooterHyenas. However, once that’s released, maybe the team will consider doing a sequel to its celebratedAlientitle, but that’s just speculation at this stage.

Over the decades, many have tried to make video game adaptations of theAlienbrand, but there have been quite a few that have fallen short of the mark. Luckily,Isolationwas a huge hit and was not only a terrifying experience, but was faithful to the lore of the classic 1979 film. WithAliens: Dark Descentcoming soon, many will be curious whether another studio can successfully bring the Xenomorph to the digital realm.
