Analog Select

Starting with Analog Select, players will eventually understand that each setting works similarly, but with minor differences. Analog Select utilizes the left analog stick to advance individual runners, while the L1 and R1 toggles will advance and retreat all runners at once, respectively.

This mode is effective againstMLB The Show 24teams with strong infielding, as they’ll be quick to strike with a double play. Players who excel at advancing runners and stealing bases whenever possible may resort to this setting, as a fast finger can move runners efficiently, earning plenty of runs in the process.

Button Select

Button Select works nearly the same way as the Analog setting, only switching up the analog motion with button control. Players can use either the right-side buttons or the D-pad to move their players around, which gives players two options to choose from based on their comfort level.

With the comfort level set, players should utilize theequipment available inMLB The Show 24to gain the upper hand. Plenty of different equipment offer players boosts to speed, stamina, and base stealing, making baserunning easier to handle and grants a higher probability of succession.

Auto Baserunning

If choosing between using buttons or analogs feels like too much of a chore, players can opt to go with auto baserunning, which allows the CPU’s AI to decide when a player runs for the extra base or stands pat. This option is recommended for players looking to have aneasy time inMLB The Show 24, as the mode takes out most of the effort.

This setting does have some upside, as players can still manage the final decision of any runner on base, simply by using the toggle instructions from the previous two settings. Using auto baserunning allows players to concentrate on hitting line drives, but beware that sometimes, the optimal course may not be taken by an AI looking to make the safe play.
