Summary

Various leaks and rumors have claimed to reveal some of the games that are in development for the nextNintendoconsole, referred to here as the Switch 2.Nintendodoesn’t stick to normal naming conventions when it comes to its consoles, so it’s really anyone’s guess what the next system from the company will be called.

According to the leaks, Nintendo has a new 2DDonkey Konggame, a new 3DSuper Mariogame with an open world, and a newPokemongame all in the works for the Switch 2. The leaks claim thatCapcom’s nextMonster Huntergameis also in development for the Switch 2, while Sega is preparing to launch aSuper Monkey Ballgame for the new hardware. All of this seems plausible, but fans should take the information with a massive grain of salt.

Leaked Nintendo Switch 2 Games

Most of these leaks come from Zippo, a Nintendo leaker with a spotty track record. Some of their predictions have turned out accurate, but some of their other claims have been false. With this in mind, fans should treat these “leaked” Nintendo Switch 2 games with a healthy amount of skepticism. That being said, none of the claims made here are outlandish, and it’s entirely possible that all of these games will indeed release for theSwitch 2 console.

2DDonkey Konggames have been popular for decades, and there hasn’t been a new one since 2014’sDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Every Nintendo console since the Nintendo 64 has had a 3DSuper Mariogame, so it’s a safe bet that the upcoming Switch 2 will have one as well, though it remains to be seen if it will truly be open world as rumored. Capcom has long releasedMonster Huntergames on Nintendo platforms, so that makes sense, and the same goes forSuper Monkey Ball. A newPokemonis inevitable for the next Switch, though it remains to be seen if the firstPokemongames released for the console are the Generation 10 games,Black and Whiteremakes, or something else entirely.

Beyond what’s listed here, it’s also been suggested that Square Enix has some Switch 2 games in development. According to those rumors, Square Enix has actually managed togetFinal Fantasy 7 Remakerunning on Switch 2at a level similar to the PS5 version, but other reports indicate that the company doesn’t actually plan on releasing the game on Nintendo’s next console.
