A post on Reddit shared over the weekend pointed toward another game for whatApex Legendsshould do next. Harshly, the post recommends that Respawn take a Season off like withRainbow Six Siege’s Operation Health.
The Reddit post in question isn’t askingRespawn Entertainmentto add some new functionality or to switch up gameplay. Rather, they say that they’re currently so frustrated withApex Legends' technical issues that they believe Respawn should pause the content pipeline to focus on improvements. TheApex Legendsplayers says that they are “constantly booted” and that they are made to feel like the game is unplayable as a result. Those technical issues deserve all of Respawn’s focus, in their belief.

Operation Health was a season whereRainbow Six Siegedevelopers at Ubisoft did just what this Reddit user is recommending. Three months went by, delaying all seasonal content updates, whileUbisoft focused onRainbow Six Siege’s game health. That included improving server, matchmaking, update rollout, and other significant problems withRainbow Six Siegeat the time. Ubisoft felt like the update was just that important for the long-term health ofRainbow Six Siege.
As pointed out in the Reddit thread onApex Legends,Operation Healthwas a low point in the lifespan ofRainbow Six Siege. The lack of new content drove away players and made the meta feel stagnant and cold. ManyRainbow Six Siegeplayers at the time thought the game could be spiraling towards the end of its life. Of course, as is now obvious, the changes made during Operation Health have helped leadRainbow Six Siegeto incredible success. The value of Operation Health can’t be understated, but it did have its downside.
While the Redditor’s point about disconnects inApex Legendsbeing at an unacceptable level is fair, calling for an Operation Health seems extreme.Apex Legends' communityis thriving, matchmaking works fluidly, and updates are frequent and roll out smoothly. Also, Respawn is hard at work addressing server disconnects and expects an update to normalize server stability by mid-week.
Even ifApex Legendsisn’t going to have an Operation Health, that doesn’t mean that this Reddit user’s feedback isn’t valuable, of course. Respawn is an attentive developer that avidly collectsfeedback regardingApex Legends. Odds are, the team’s been working through the weekend to get a server stability patch ready for Wednesday. It should, hopefully, get things back to a state where Respawn and fans are happy without the need to stop rolling out content.
