With the launch of a new season and some meta shifting with new buffs, nerfs, and new character Mad Maggie, manyApex Legendsplayers are likely considering who the best characters are, who to man, and so on. However, there has been some new debate within theApex Legendscommunity about which characters could realistically win an Apex Game.

As a game, there’s a lot of suspension of disbelief inApex Legends. For example, there is only one Wraith, but players just have to overlook the various Wraiths they may come across in a match. The same goes for howSeer’s heartbeat sensorcan pick up Pathfinder, who doesn’t have a heart, but the proposition of which characters could realistically win is quite interesting.

Apex Legends Tier List

Based on this tier list from Redditor drizzyLGA1151, which makes a lot of sense the more it’s thought about, the most likely to win find themselves on the “aimbots/actual god” tier: Ash, Revenant, and Bloodhound. The first two are pretty clear—Ash and Revenant don’t have human weaknesses and their entire character arcs revolve around murder in one way or another. Meanwhile, Bloodhound can see people just about anywhere, and as an experienced hunter, could sit back and mow down othercharacters inApex Legends.

The second tier is dubbed “Seasoned Vet” and represents military characters with actual combat expertise. Given these characters have much more “real life” exposure to things worse than the Apex Games, it gives them a comfy positioning from the get-go. These characters are namelyMirage, especially if his clones work better; Wraith, for her experimental powers and real-world experience; and Bangalore, who is the definition of a seasoned vet.

The third tier’s the “high chances” tier and is composed of characters with useful background experience, solid technology on their side, and/or useful abilities. These characters may be outclassed by two tiers, but they would be solid bets in a real-world Apex Game experience: Valkyrie, Octane,Mad Maggie, and Fuse.

The mid-tier is just that, middling characters who could win but aren’t likely to. Redditor drizzyLGA1151 pretty accurately puts most of the legends here, as most of them are good in circumstantial scenarios: Seer, Pathfinder, Horizon, Caustic, Gibraltar, and Loba. Below them is the “Ok?” tier of legends who are not likely to win, for one reason or another, including Crypto, Lifeline, and Rampart.

Crypto’s real-world experience is about hiding, not fighting, while Lifeline could likely heal herself well but probably couldn’t outheal AND kill AND beat many of the above characters. Rampart would probably take some characters with her, but her slow set-up and style of combat is simply outclassed by manyApex Legendscharacters, somewhat reflecting her placement on real tier lists. Ironically but understandably,Lifeline is usually a high-tier character, but that ties a lot into how she is gamified.

Finally, on the very bottom of the tier list is Wattson, who gets her own tier: “Can’t even hold a gun right.” Not only is this accurate and ties intoWattson’sApex Legendslore, but it would reflect in real-life. In a real-life Apex Game scenario, Wattson is a danger to herself and others, which is partially why many love her in the game.

Apex Legendsis available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. Mobile, PS5, and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
