With some fans of the franchise feeling alienated byValhalla’s massive size and large focus on open combat, the more recentAssassin’s Creed Miragewas an attempt to return the franchise to its roots with a smaller, more stealth-rich gameplay experience. Set in 9th century Baghdad before the events ofValhalla,Miragetells the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character first introduced inValhallaalong Eivor’s journey. With a much smaller map, more options for stealth, and an open combat system that feels dangerous and urges players to avoid confrontations,Miragewas largely considered a success for fans of the franchise’s earlier games.
Ubisoft has revealed thatEivor’s robes fromAssassin’s Creed Valhallaare coming toMirageas a wearable costume for Basim. In a short Twitter clip, Ubisoft showed off Basim wearing Eivor’s robes while parkouring around the city of Baghdad. Basim getting to wear Eivor’s outfit is fitting, considering he made his first ever appearance in Eivor’s game.Mirageplayers will need to use their UbiConnect accounts to redeem the free Eivor costume.
Eivor Costume In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
InAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eivor’s Raven Clan Armor Set changes its appearance as players upgrade it. Basim’s singular version of the outfit seems to resemble different tiers of the robes. It’s also worth mentioning that Eivor’s long cloak, which was used for stealth, is missing from the outfit. The omission does make sense, though, since the stealth mechanics ofValhallaandMiragediffer wildly, and Basim never wears a full cloak inMirage. Eivor isn’t the first assassin to have his robes worn by Basim, as Altair and Ezio’s outfits are wearable costumes inMirageas well. Perhaps even more robes of iconic assassins will join Basim’s wardrobe next, likeAssassin’s Creed 3’s Connor orBlack Flag’s Edward Kenway.
Next up for the franchise isAssassin’s Creed Red, which is heavily rumored to be ready to release sometime later this year. AsAssassin’s Creed’s next large-scale RPG-style entry set in ancient Japan, fans of the franchise are super eager to learn more. With a Ubisoft Forward locked in for June 10, it’ll likely be the home ofAssassin’s Creed Red’s proper reveal, and possibly even its release date.
