As fun and exciting asAssassin’s Creed: Valhallamay be for many players, no game is perfect. Whether it be a visual upgrade, a change in gameplay, or inserting a completely different franchise into the game, modding can do a lot for players.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla After the Prologue save file mod

Updated June 17, 2025 by Joe Grantham:Even though official post-content support for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is at an end, players deeply in love with the open-world RPG can still expect new content for the game in the form of mods. Modders are constantly coming up with new ideas to keep games fresh and this is no different with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is regarded as one ofthe best Assassin’s Creed games.

Older mods are also constantly updated and improved on or made compatible with other mods. Unfortunately, some mods are also taken down for various reasons, which is a shame for those who don’t feel the game is complete without them. Mods for Valhalla mostly alter aesthetics and visuals, either giving players more customization or improving immersion. As the mod scene for the game has changed, this article has been updated to reflect that.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ragnar Lothbrok’s Sail mod

15After the Prologue And First Arrived England SAVE FILES

Allows Players To Skip The Prologue Or Skip To England

For players who are thinking about starting their second, third, or even fourth playthrough ofAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla, the thought of going through the Prologue again can be a bit daunting. Thissave file mod, however, allows players to skip the Prologue and jump straight into their experience as Eivor.

Additionally, the mod contains another save file that allows players to jump even further ahead to the point at which they arrive on the shores of England. This is perfect for players who didn’t enjoy the early stages of the game that much or who have completed it so many times they can’t bear the thought of doing so again. Arguably, the true open-ended RPG portion of the game starts in England.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Eivor’s Wardrobe Mod

14Ragnar Lothbrok’s Sail

Changes The Default Sail To One From The TV Show Vikings

There is likely to be some overlap between fans ofAssassin’s Creed: Valhallaand fans of the TV seriesVikings. As such, there are a number of mods that incorporate visuals from the show into the game. One such mod isRagnar Lothbrok’s Sail, which replaces the default texture for the sail with one used in the show.

The black raven on blood-red fabric makes for an intimidating image, and as players will have the sail on screen for a decent portion of the game, it’s certainly a worthwhile mod to download.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Weapon Mesh Swaps Mod

13Eivor’s Wardrobe

Lets Players Wear NPC Outfits

If players have ever gotten that feeling while walking around inAssassin’s Creed Valhallathat the NPCs are better dressed than themselves, theEivor’s Wardrobemodcan fix all of their problems. Uploaded by QuilLeeR this mod allows the player to garb Eivor in dozens of NPC outfits from throughout the game.

From the rich robes of King Alfred the Great, who also happens to be one ofthe hardest starting rulers inCrusader Kings 3, to antler-clad druid outfits, this mod allows players much more customization over their look than the base game. Seeing as blending in with the people is a common theme inAssassin’s Creedgames, this mod even makes perfect sense in the lore.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla 100 Complete Max Level Save Mod

12Weapon Mesh Swaps

Allows Players To Change The Esthetics Of Their Chosen Weapons

TheWeapon Mesh Swapsmod uploaded by Rider735 is a purely aesthetic mod that changes the appearance of weapons to suit the player’s preference. Without changing the stats of their weapons, players can choose from an incredible lineup of historical or fantasy-inspired weapon meshes.

This goes for every weapon type, from swords, axes, sickles, and spears to shields and bows. Most of the meshes are taken from NPCs, so if players see an in-game character with something they want, this mod should allow them to take it for themselves.

11100 Complete Maximum Level Save File

Allows Players To Skip The Hard Parts

100% completing modern games can be quite the grind, and not everyone wants to sink in hundreds of hours just to unlock their favorite assets. Thankfully, the100 Complete Maximum Level Save File modexists forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, allowing players to skip the hard part.

Every aspect of the game is complete with this mod. There are many reasons why some players might want to download a save file like this. Since it is asingle-player game, there are no downsides for other players.

Remove Startup Logos Mod Crossed Out Ubisoft Logo

10Eivor Enhanced Muscles

Makes The Hero A Jacked Viking Warrior

This is another more aesthetic-minded mod. TheEivor Enhananced Muscles modby skylightglare, Makacha, and ilikedetectives makes Eivor even more jacked by cranking up the detailing and prominence of both female and male Eivor’s muscles. Eivor was already a hulking warrior inValhalla, but this mod makes them into truly jacked Viking warrior heroes. Like the prior mod, this one requires the Forger Patch Manager to function properly in the game.

WhileAssassin’s Creedgames sometimes aim for realism (to a degree), it’s undeniable that there is an appeal to making one’s Viking hero into a truly shredded figure capable of bench-pressing a longboat or two. There do seem to be some frequent glitches with this particular mod though, so there is an accompanying troubleshooting guide on the mod page.

Gnome

9Remove Startup Logos

Boots The Game Up More Quickly

This is a fairly common mod produced for PC games, and it’s a fairly understandable one. When one boots up a game, they’re often looking to get into that game as soon as possible without having to wait for various cinematics announcing the companies involved with the game and the particular port.

TheRemove Startup Logos moddoes what it says in the name. It cuts out roughly 90 seconds of logo cinematics and replaces them with three seconds of black screen so that the player can get intoAssassin’s Creed: Valhallaall the more quickly. This particular mod comes from Nexus user Dolby1021.

8Replace Assassinations With A Gnome

A Silly Mod For The Glory Of Gnomes

Sometimes, players just want a gnome. Sometimes, they just have to have a gnome. Things other than a gnome will simply not do. That’s a sympathetic feeling that everyone can understand deep down. Thankfully, there is a mod that will allow players to have a gnomeeven inAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

The mod is appropriately calledReplace Assassinations with a Gnome, and it comes from Nexus Mod user Fappelsapman. The caveat to this mod is that the description doesn’t quite make it clear what exactly this mod replaces with a gnome. The title implies that it replaces the assassination animations with a full-screen image of this gnome, but the description makes it seem like the gnome actually replaces the Ubisoft and Nvidia credit screens from boot-up. Either way, this mod is recommendable for players seeking lighthearted fun.

Assassins Creed Valhalla Eivor Talking With Soma Cutscene

7Hide This

Removes Distracting Visuals From The Player Experience

This mod is more of a tweak to the visuals of the game as opposed to a major alteration to the gameplay or story. Nexus Mod user Tholwin introduced theHide This mod, which removes unused sheaths from Eivor’s back and the masks from other players' Jomsvikings. Players might also know Jomsvikings from theanime masterpieceVinland Saga.

Even when Eivor isn’t using twin weapons or a bow, the sheath for a second weapon and bow are still on Eivor’s back. This is a minor detail, but it can be bothersome to some players. It also removes the facemasks from the Jomsviking recruits that Eivor can gather, which are made by otherAssassin’s Creed: Valhallaplayers.

6Fix Cutscenes Ultrawide

Improves The Visual Fidelity Of Cutscenes

This is a resolution fix for the cutscenes inAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The cutscenes weren’t tuned for ultra-widescreen monitors, so modder L3X4RS fixed this oversight with theFix Cutscenes Ultrawide modthat alters the cutscenes to fit ultra-widescreen monitors.

This seems like a simple mod, but cutscenesintended to be cinematic experiencesnot fitting properly on a computer monitor can be off-putting and distracting. After all, many players enjoy the immersion of historical RPGs and even small errors can rip the world away.
