How to Get Periapt of Wound Closure in Baldur’s Gate 3
Luckily, obtaining the Periapt of Wound Closure inBaldur’s Gate 3is relatively easy, and can be achieved through one of three different methods. First of all, you will need to complete Act 1 and progress to the Mountain Pass - which acts as an Act 1.5 of sorts, before heading into theShadow-Cursed Lands of Act 2.
Once you arrive at theMountain Pass, you will need to locateLady Esther, who can be found on the hill that overlooksRosymorn Monastery. If you need assistance in locating Lady Esther’s exact position on the map, then feel free to refer to the Mountain Pass map screenshot below, where this has been marked.

Once you have located this woman, you will have three different options you can take to gain the Periapt of Wound Closure - purchasing it from her, stealing it throughpickpocketing, or killing her and robbing it from her corpse. Upon talking to Lady Esther, she will ask you to assist her inobtaining a Githyanki Egg from the Creche- much toLae’zel’soutrage.
If you do not wish to assist Lady Esther in her quest, then killing her won’t affect the story any differently in the long run, and is, therefore, the quickest and easiest option to go for, if you do not wish to purchase it, or do not have enough Gold to do so.

The second easiest way to obtain the Periapt of Wound Closure from Lady Esther is to speak to hear and ask to see her wares. This will open the trading menu, where this amulet can be purchased for 325 Gold.
The last way to obtain the Periapt of Wound Closure is by having a character with high dexterity, such as aRogue,Ranger, orBardattempt to steal it from Lady Esther through a pickpocketing attempt. The best method to achieve this is by having a second character initiate a conversation with Lady Esther. This will force her to look directly at the character interacting with her, making the perfect distraction, Now you may simply swap characters to your designed Rogue/Ranger/Bard, use the Hide action, and pickpocket Lady Esther. Before using this method, you can also place Guidance on the pickpocketer to help them with their Sleight of Hand checks.

To successfully pickpocket the Periapt of Wound Closure from Lady Esther, you will need to succeed a DC 8 Sleight of Hand check. In the case that you fail this check, combat with Lady Esther will immediately be triggered. However, you will still be able to pick the item from her corpse after killing her, so you’ll still be able ot obtain it just fine in case stealthing doesn’t go so well.
Periapt of Wound Closure Skills & How to Get the Most Value, Explained
Periapt of Wound Closure Skills & Buffs
These buffs are huge, and can greatly benefit many different characters. However, when it comes to maintaining the most value for this item, two options stand out among others.
Naturally, if you’re playing a party composition with only one core healer, then maintaining their HP in combat and ensuring they have a strong means of survivability is key. The Periapt of Wound Closure can work exceptionally well with support-oriented builds, such as a Cleric like Shadowheart. This way, if she goes down in combat, you won’t be out of heals, as she will stabilize at the beginning of her next turn, enabling you to then use that opportunity to reposition and pivot into recovery. Shadowheart can also utilize Spells such asMass Cure Woundsto heal multiple targets at once (including herself), which will enable her to restore the maximum amount of HP possible for each heal she applies to herself - thus ensuring even more survivability.

The second way in which you can best utilize this item is by equipping it to your main DPS tank character - such as a Fighter,Paladin, or Barbarian. If you have one of these characters who heavily carries damage output per round, then you’ll need to ensure they stay alive and well during combat so that they are capable of maintaining their role throughout the encounter. If your most prominent damage dealer goes down in battle and it’s too risky to immediately get them back on their feet, then this can drastically affect certain encounters, especially ones that are best navigated by picking off multiple enemies per round. Luckily, the Periapt of Wound Closure will get them back on their feet if they’re caught out and go down, enabling you to jump right back up, fix your character up with a potion, or disengage into the range of the party healer - both of which will receive an improved burst of healing via the Periapt of Wound Closure’s Potent Healing.
