Much like the original Windows release, the Switch port of Rocksteady Studios' beloved action-adventure experience suffers from numerous technical problems.
Part of theBatman: Arkham Trilogy bundle that came out last December, the Switch version ofBatman: Arkham Knighthas been labeled by the community as one of the worst ports ever released on the handheld due to a combination of poor performance and game-breaking bugs. The changelog forBatman: Arkham Knight’s newest 1.0.3 update on the Switch has yet to be published, but many said on Reddit that the game still ran poorly and suffered from stutters, as well as frame drops, even after the 16 GB patch had been applied. Some players noted that the latest update toBatman: Arkham Knight’s Switch version at least improved the game’s graphics. The 2015 PC release ofBatman: Arkham Knightfaced similar problems as the handheld port, and the Switch-exclusiveBatman: Arkham Trilogywas always expected to run into issuesgiven the system’s dated hardware.
Aside from exhibiting unstable performance,Batman: Arkham Knight’s Switch version supposedly still encounters freezes and crashes during some parts of the game. As a result of these issues, a number of achievements, specifically those that are connected to major antagonist The Riddler, are impossible to obtain, some players pointed out online.Batman: Arkham Knightfeatures a lot of hard-to-unlock achievements, among them being Riddle Me That, a Riddler-related achievement that only less than 9% of players on Steam have been able to obtain.
