Summary
Ghost Recon Wildlandsis a popular open world tactical shooter in which players must fight for control of Bolivia against the Santa Blanca Cartel. As a “Ghost”, players will have many tools, weapons and vehicles at their disposal, as well as a squad of elite soldiers to help out in any given situation. As players progress through the game, they canwitness the gradual changesas the environment around them changes from from the brutal oppression of cartel rule to the liberation brought in by rebel forces.
Throughout the game, players can unlock a range of powerful weapons. Fromunique handgunsand SMGs to sniper rifles and auto shotguns, there is plenty to choose from when it comes to equipping gear. The following assault rifles are the best to be found in the game, with each offering different qualities which make them favorable to different situations.
AUG A3
A Ruthless Weapon With An Innovative Design
The AUG A3 is a compact European assault rifle with a focus on Handling and Accuracy. It is effective from range in its semi-automatic firing mode, but it truly excels in short-to-medium range encounters where full auto can be used.
With such a high Handling stat, recoil is less of an issue with the AUG than with certain other rifles, particularly when firing in sustained bursts. The AUG can be found in a base on the western side of the Barvechos province.
7M4A1
An American Classic Solid In All Aspects
The M4A1 is amodern classic assault rifle, used most notably by the US military since 2010 as a replacement for the M16. InGhost Recon Wildlandsit is a very versatile weapon with a range of customization options to tailor it to each player’s preference.
With solid stats across the board, it compares relatively well to other top-tier rifles in terms of Penetration and Range. Players can find the M4A1 in a weapons box at a UNIDAD-controlled sawmill in the Flor De Oro province.
6L85A2
Arguably The Most Accurate Assault Rifle In The Game
The L85A2 is renowned for its high accuracy and enables players tofight at long distanceswithout having to put themselves in too much danger. This British Army rifle is easily one of the best to use in a semi-automatic firing mode, and even surpasses some of the lower level sniper rifles.
It can perform well at mid to short distances too, with a high Penetration stat and medium Rate of Fire when in fully automatic mode. In order to retrieve it players will first have to defeat the boss La Santera and retrieve it from her home.
5ACR
A Classic Assault Rifle Useful In All Situations
The ACR is a popular assault rifle used primarily by American military and law enforcement units. It excels in long-distance firefights, and should make light work of mostSanta Blanca cartel units. Even when faced with more heavily armored UNIDAD troops, the ACR still holds its own very well.
Unique variants include the ACR Baby Vintage and the GRFS ACR, which will be available to players from the start of the game. In order to obtain a customizable version, players will need to retrieve it from La Loma in Media Luna province, one of the harder UNIDAD northern regions.
4TAR-21
A Fast-Firing And Accurate Late Game Weapon
The TAR-21 prioritizes a high rate of fire, but it is still remarkably accurate and has additional penetration damage when shooting armored opponents or vehicles. In addition to this, the weapon’s Handling is one of the highest in the game, and it doesn’t suffer in terms of Range either.
Overall, this can be an exceptionally devastating weapon, but players will have to earn it the hard way. It can be acquired in Montuyoc province at any point during the game, but given that this isone of the hardest regions to complete, it may be worth leveling up a decent amount first.

A Deadly And Customizable Fan Favorite
The 416 is based on the HK416 as featured in Rainbow Six Siege as Jaeger’s main weapon. This compact assault rifle is ideal for close quarters combat, but with an exceptional Accuracy and Range, it is also equally adept at taking out enemies from distance.
The weapon features several upgradable components including sights, foregrip, compensators and a 30 round magazine. Players will also notice thatRainbow Six operatorTwitch uses the 416 during the Operation Archangel easter egg mission.
2MDR
An Excellent All-Round Assault Rifle Across All Stats
The MDR is a specialist bullpup assault rifle players can acquire as part of the Fallen Ghosts DLC. It is strong in virtually every aspect, offering an ideally balanced assault rifle capable of taking on singular or groups of enemies from a variety of distances.
The weapon can be customized in various ways including with improved grips, several optical sights and extended magazines. A unique variant, the Extranjeros MDR can also be found on fallen enemies during the DLC.

A High-Output Silenced Rifle With Bonus Armor Penetration
The SC4000 is a crossover weaponfrom theSplinter Cellseriesand was originally a prototype created by Charlie Cole. It features a high rate of fire coupled with high Accuracy and above-average Penetration, making it ideal for taking down groups of enemies in vehicles.
A built-in suppressor also ensures that this weapon is favorable to stealth operations, avoiding the unnecessary raising of alarms and the summoning of reinforcements. This unique weapon can only be unlocked via the Splinter Cell Equipment Pack, part of the Year 2 Season Pass.
