Playing through Welcome To The Flower Kingdom in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

8Welcome To The Flower Kingdom

World 1: Pipe-Rock Plateau

Welcome to the Flower Kingdom is the first stage in the game and it perfectly lays out what players should expect from this latest adventure. There are new enemies to fight in a new land, the Flower Kingdom, and new power-ups too. InSuper Mario Bros. Wonder, players can get the Elephant Fruitwhich will turn characters like Mario into literal elephants.

The star of the show is Wonder Flowers, which can do a myriad of things like turning pipes into inchworms like in this stage. It only gets more creative from Welcome to the Flower Kingdom onward.

Playing through Petal Isles Flying Battleship in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

7Petal Isles Flying Battleship

Petal Isles

Of the many Battleship stages in the game, Petal Isles Flying Battleship is the most fun in that it has a gimmick. Pipes in this level will pump out clouds that players can ridejust like Lakitu. If players get the Bubble Flower in the stage, then they can rain down a bubble-infused hell on the unsuspecting enemies from above.

Players need to be cautious about flying around on clouds though as they can disappear fast and without a moment’s notice. That’s why it is advised to equip the Parachute Cap Badge for extra insurance.

Playing through Downpour Uproar in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

6Downpour Uproar

Downpour Uproar is located in the archipelago of levels located in the Petal Isles. The crux of this level features a bunch of rain clouds that downpour waterfalls onto players. They must swim up these clouds to get around, but things can get a little hectic as everything is time-based.

If players aren’t fast enough, they will drop down mid-pour. A goodBadge fromSuper Mario Bros. Wonderto equip here would be the Dolphin Kick as that will allow players to move easily through water. The cloud waterfalls are a simple and yet elegant gimmick to base a level around.

Playing through An Uncharted Area Wubba Ruins in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

5An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins

World 5: Fungi Mines

An Uncharted Area: Wubba Ruins will make players go through slime molds as they make their way through the stage. They can swim through them but it will take some time. There are also a bunch of enemies that will try to squish players from above and below, making things a bit hectic while going through these slime molds.

The greatest part of this level is the Wonder Flower which will turn players into a little blob. From Marioto Princess Peach, they all look different. Players can cling to ceilings and squeeze through tight spaces in this form, making for some interesting platforming challenges.

Playing through The Midway Trial Hop To It in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

4The Midway Trial: Hop To It

World 3: Shining Falls

Shining Falls is an odd region of the game because a ninja-like Poplin will follow players around, “training” them to also be a ninja. At the end of this world, which is themed around trials like The Midway Trial: Hop To It, this Poplin will just give players a Wonder Seed without a boss fight in a castle.

Now, as for the level itself, it sticks out because of two things. One, it is a vertical platforming stage and there aren’t many of those inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. Two, the Wonder Flower will turn players into a Hoppycat which will create some exhilarating momentum when scaling the peaks of this stage.

Playing through Light-Switch Mansion in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

3Light-Switch Mansion

Light-Switch Mansion is located in the fifth world, Fungi Mines. Most games in this series are filled with ghost houses, but this isSuper Mario Bros. Wonder’sbiggest example. Nintendo went all out on the design of this one as players have to hit a bunch of literal light switches to make the Boos disappear.

The dark design and green hue of these ghost-busting lights help make the level look distinct. The Wonder Flower also produces something magical, a musicalwherein King Boostarts to sing opera.

Playing through Where The Rrrumbas Rule in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

2Where The Rrrumbas Rule

World 6: Deep Magma Bog

Where the Rrrumbas Rule is a late-game level inSuper Mario Bros. Wonderthat takes place in the sixth world, Deep Magma Bog. The overall world is underground, filled with lava, which is an even deadlier trap than normal pits in the game.

The design of the level is decent before the Wonder Flower, but things get more interesting after players discover it. It will turn any of the characters, like Mario, into a rock-like creature. The course after this is thrilling and is almost designed like a rollercoaster or even a pinball game.

Playing through Piranha Plants On Parade in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

1Piranha Plants On Parade

Piranha Plants on Parade is a level inSuper Mario Bros. Wonderthat is going to have players shake their heads in amazement. This game is filled with musical stages and this is the best of the best and coincidentally, it should also be the first. After touching the Wonder Flower, the Piranha Plants in the stage will start to march to the beat and sing.

It’s like this game’s version ofLittle Shop of Horrors, one of the best musical movies ever made and probablythebest starring a plant from space. It’s a short stage too, so it’s easy to go through again and again for a quick little tune.
