Activision Blizzard releasedCall of Duty: Black OpsCold WarSeason 6 today and players from around the world are eagerly downloading the latest update. While manyCall of Dutyfans are finding success in downloading the Season 6 update, others are encountering a massive bug.
Reddit user Forever_Nocturnal joined several otherCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans in voicing their concerns about the Season 6 update. According to Forever_Nocturnal, theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 6 update is a whopping 231GB on the Xbox Series X/S. The file size is due to the download bug forcing the player to re-download the full game in addition to the Season 6 update.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 6brings loads of additional content to the FPS. There are new multiplayer maps, changes to theWarzonemap, and the conclusion toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies game mode. Although the large chunk of additional content is bringing lapsedCold Warfans back, some may be turned away by an update download exceeding 200GB.
While Forever_Nocturnal has confirmed that theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 5 update was only 12GB for them. Other players encountered this same download bug withCold WarSeason 5, forcing them to re-download the entire game sooner than Forever_Nocturnal. The accurate file size ofCold WarSeason 6 is closer to 28GB, significantly more than the last season, but significantly less than the full game.
Although severalCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans stated to Forever_Nocturnal that they’ve encountered the same download bug, many other players may not even report having the same bug. Considering the file size ofCold Warexceeding 200GB, it takes up a large chunk of most hard drives and solid-state drives. This file size makes it unlikely that aCall of Dutyfan isn’t going to notice this download bug whenCold Wargoes from one season to the next.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris no stranger todownload bugs, with other season updates proving to be equally problematic.Cold Warfans who have encountered this download bug before were quick to inform Forever_Nocturnal that it’s a known issue, but some players may not know. It’s likely that someCall of Dutyfans have already encountered the download bug and re-downloaded the growing file in order to get into Season 6 as quickly as possible.
