The creatures come in all shapes and sizes, and their final forms are contextual. Different monsters result from the stage of the development the deceased was at and the circumstances of their death, with some Necromorphs being composed of more than one corpse. Necromorph Creation and Origins
Necromorphs are created by an alien infection that reanimates dead tissue and brings the deceased being back to life. The sole purpose of these lifeforms is to continue spreading the infection, creating as many Necromorphs as possible. Necromorphs are controlled by objects known as Markers, double helix-shaped items that spread the infection to dead lifeforms and create more Necromorphs. The original makers are black-colored and travel through space until they land on a planet and can transform its ecosystem.
InDead Space, however, humanity sought to understand the Markers and created red-colored replicas. This ill-advised move led to thecreation of more terrifying Necromorph creatures.
The Markers are communication tools of sorts for creatures called Brethren Moons. These moons are colossal Necromorphs and are believed to be the final stage of development for the undead alien monsters. The moon-sized organisms broadcast their signals through the Markers, with the ultimate goal of wiping out life in whatever corner of the galaxy they’re occupying.
Once all life has been killed and transformed into a system, a convergence event creates a new Brethren Moon. While most humans,Isaac Clarke in particular, understand this to be a grave threat to the galaxy, some believe the Markers and the Necromorphs to be a positive thing. Unitologists believe the Markers will help humans solve the mystery of human life sees the Necromorph transformation as a rebirth, rather than a hostile alien force.
Despite therumors of aDead Spacereboot or sequel, a new project hasn’t been confirmed. If a newDead Spacetitle does exist, players can confidently expect to see the Necromorphs return to bring their horror to a new generation. With next-gen consoles, gamers will almost certainly see the Necromorphs in a more detailed and terrifying light than ever before. While the Necromoprh lore could be subject to change with a reboot, the backstory of these monsters remains one of the most unnerving in all of gaming.
