Achievements usually form a big part of gameplay, with developers striving to create fun and engaging ways of marking players' landmark deeds in-game with fun rewards like custom items and plaques. The mechanism also applies toDestiny 2, as Bungie preps its annualSolstice of Heroes eventto celebrate its Guardians with a bang, with the event now being called only Solstice. Each new iteration of the event brings something new, from weapons to armor and even game modes, and it has traditionally allowed players to show off their best weapons attained throughout the year. With the Solstice event now live, Bungie has a few twists up its sleeves to keep fans entertained, and the highly anticipated event promises fun surprises for gamers.
Destiny 2has many successful seasons each year, stretching the peaks of gamers' skills in the pursuit of coveted rewards; weapons, skins, and the like. Among its annual events, Solstice is one of the events players look forward to the most, thanks to the Last City’s unique game modes and loot. For the 2023 edition, Bungie is buffing its content up with more enemies and increased difficulty to giveDestiny 2players a real challenge, and the month-long grind should be a fun gaming experience for Guardians.

Solstice of Heroes 2023 Brings New Buffs and Challenges
Solstice 2023 is hosted by Eva Levante, enticing players to participate in its Bonfire Bash with the chance to earn and upgrade pieces of Solstice armor. Held in the European Aerial Zone, gamers must complete challenges in theBonfire Bash modeto obtain Silver Leaves, Silver Ash, and Kindling. These forms of currency allow Guardians to progress through the event’s tiers in the hunt for the craved glow of the Solstice armor.
Traditionally, eachsubclass inDestiny 2has a unique flashy glow given by the Solstice event, and players can only obtain the effect after upgrading armor pieces multiple times. This mechanism is grind-centered, although Guardians can skip the whole process and buy the Solstice 2023 transmog style from the Eververse Store using Bright Dust or Silver.
The cosmetic glow isn’t the only reason the Solstice event has huge participation numbers inDestiny 2. The Bonfire Bash challenge is also one of the best gear providers in the game, and players can reroll their armor stats by continuously earning the Solstice armor. Each piece of armor can undergo three upgrades, and gamers can use Kindling and Silver Ash to upgrade stat roll potential and reroll armor stats respectively.
Upgrading armor pieces in Solstice has never been particularly easy, and Bungie is giving players buffs to get through the increased difficulty of the Bonfire Bash event in 2023. These buffs, named Firebound and Flare, also extend toVanguard Ops playlists.
Along with the new buffs, Bungie is also introducing a new Strand rocket launcher to its annual event. The weapon is the first rocket launcher inDestiny 2’s Strand category, and given the strength of Strand builds in endgame scenarios, players are expecting a big bang from the addition. The Solstice 2023 officially commenced on June 02, 2025, and is expected to run for four weeks, and the prizes on offer are too enticing for Guardians to pass up.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
