Summary
Bungie reveals new changes coming toDestiny 2inside of Season 22 including the return of the exotic mission Presage, which will make the Dead Man’s Tale scout rifle craftable for the first time. As Season of the Deep slowly lurches to its inevitable conclusion, many fans have begun looking towards what’s next on the horizon. August is shaping up to be a huge month forDestinyfans as not only isBungie holding its highly anticipated Final Shape showcase, but Season 22 will also be arriving as well.
While Bungie continues to keep the major story elements and theme of Season 22 close to the vest, the studio has shed a bit more light on some of the bigger gameplay changes including a recentDestiny 2blog post highlighting ritual rewards and economy adjustments. Bungie announced it is increasing the odds of earning a ritual engram after participating in an activity like Vanguard strikes, Gambit, or the Crucible and masterwork materials will have their hard caps increased. In addition, Bungie also announced a major change to one of the more popular exotic scout rifles in the game.

Through the weekly blog post, Bungie provided a few additional details on the game’s economy changes including confirming the return of thePresage mission inside of the Exotic Mission Rotator. As a result of this, players will be able to essentially farm the DMT by running Presage to earn deepsight, or red boarder versions in order to unlock it for crafting purposes. Naturally, the exotic scout can also be found in non-deepsight versions, giving players ample reasons to venture into the space station to take down Praksis again and again for the chance to find a potential god roll.
With the return of Presage and the scout rifle being made available both as a randomized drop or through crafting, Bungie also announced a big change to Xur. AsDestiny 2fans know, Xur is a weekend merchant who shows up in one of a few different locations in the game carrying exotic armor for each class, a random exotic weapon, random DMT and Hawkmoon rolls, as well as a set of legendary weapons and armor. Starting in Season 22, theDead Man’s Tale will no longer be included with Xur, a fate which likely also awaits Hawkmoon once its Harbinger mission is added to the Exotic Mission Rotator.
Originally mentioned earlier this year inside a state of the game blog byDestiny 2game director Joe Blackburn, the Exotic Mission Rotator will act similarly to the current Raid and Dungeon rotator. Each week, the featured mission will change, giving players seven days to farm the encounters and earn the specific loot. At the time, Presage, Vox Obscura, and Operation: Seraph’s Shield were specifically mentioned as being available in Season 22, with more missions potentially being added over time.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
