Diablo 4players seem to have another issue with gems, this time centered around the incredibly low resell value. While the consensus onDiablo 4has been fairly positive since it launched in June, that hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their opinions on certain elements that haven’t quite lived up to expectations. Thankfully, as a live service title, Blizzard has been fairly quick as adjusting or tuning mechanics including arecent buff to allDiablo 4classes.

Even withDiablo 4’s first season on the horizon, fans continue to express their opinions and wishlists for how Blizzard can evolve the game going forward. Idea range from smaller updates such as tweaks to some of the existing shrines, while others have noticed a rising issue with lag and rubberbanding, which is clearly a bigger issue. Recently, fans have started discussing another issue surrounding gems, following the recent debate over how much space these items can take up.

A user named lightwolf created a new post on theDiablo 4subReddit, asking why gems in general have such low value. In their opinion, things like Diamonds should be way more valuable, posting an image showing that the sell value of a Flawless Diamond is a surprisingly low 16 gold pieces. Considering that a Flawless gem is one upgrade level lower than thehighest gem type inDiablo 4called Royal, many players are confused at the low sale price.

Some commenters attempted to provide a reason, calling gems more of a loot distraction than anything else. Most seemed to agree that gem bonuses are intentionally lower to encourage players to use them more often as well as because there isn’t much value in selling them. Others took the opportunity to lament the fact that gems have level requirements to socket them, as using high level gems on low level alternateDiablo 4characters could add an element of fun.

Another major pain point in the community is related to the gear reroll system for Item Affixes. Allowing players to essentially swap out item bonuses for a fee, players have found that sometimes gambling on replacing a stat doesn’t always go according to plan. Unfortunately, there’s no way to safeguard against the new bonuses being worse than the stat players are attempting to replace, or at the very least, no longer useful to a specific build.Diablo 4players are hoping Blizzard can add some sort preview system, showcasing possible affixes that could be returned in an effort to reduce the amount of randomness.

Diablo 4is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
