Dino Crisisfans have been waiting for a new game in the series for nearly two decades now, but nothing has been announced by Capcom. We still don’t have any idea if a newDino Crisisgame will ever materialize, but Capcom has given fans hope byrenewing theDino Crisistrademark. With this newfound enthusiasm, fans have started putting out fan art for a newDino Crisis, with one particularly impressive one recently posted to the Gaming subreddit.

Reddit user OmniSlayer_006 has posted a fan made image of a newDino Crisis, which would be built with the RE Engine. The image shows an updated look forDino Crisisprotagonist Regina as she hides from what is presumably a Tyrannosaurus-Rex. The T-Rex inDino Crisiswas a reoccurring source of danger for Regina, even featured in one of the game’s most effective jump scares, and so it’s nice to see it getting some love in the fan art as well.

While fans may be excited at the idea of aDino Crisisremake, we must caution that no such game has actually been announced. Capcom renewing theDino Crisistrademark is a good sign for sure, but companies renew trademarks all the time without ever actually doing anything with them. However, there is some reason to be more optimistic about aDino Crisisremake than other fan-requested video game remakes.

That’s because Capcom itself has said that it plans on making more remakes and remasters of its games as a main part of its business strategy moving forward. This is why Capcom has re-released theResident Evilgames on virtually every video game platform imaginable, and why the company has moved forward with full-fledged remakes ofResident Evil 2andResident Evil 3. Once Capcom exhausts itsResident Evilremakes, though, maybe it will turn its attention toDino Crisis.

Whereas theResident Evilfranchise has remained consistently popular since its introduction in the mid-90s,Dino Crisishasn’t enjoyed the same success. The poorly-receivedDino Crisis 3stopped the franchise in its tracks, and while there’s been reports of someDino Crisisremakes being in early development, we haven’t seen anything substantial of the series since 2003. Considering this,Dino Crisiscould arguably benefit much more from a remake or reboot by Capcom thanResident Evil.

Whether or not we ever get anewDino Crisisgameis up in the air, but high quality fan art like this will certainly make the wait for an announcement even tougher.
