Doom Eternalearned widespread critical acclaim when it first released last year, with many holding it up as one of the finest FPS games in years. Bethesda and id Software were originally planning on extendingDoom Eternal’s lifespan with anInvasion game mode, but that idea was scrapped in favor of Horde Mode. NowDoom Eternalfans know exactly when Horde Mode is coming to the game, and they don’t have to wait long at all to check it out.
It’s been confirmed that theDoom EternalHorde Mode will launch on Tuesday, October 26 as part of update 6.66. Horde Mode will presumably be similar to Horde Mode in other games, in that players have to fight back against endless waves of enemies, though they will be able to do so with the Doomslayer’s incredible arsenal and abilities at their disposal. It should go a long way in injectingDoom Eternalwith more replay value, so it will be exciting to see how it all works out come October 26.
