Epic Games Storereleases its September 2022 selection and reveals the freebies coming next week. As most users know,Epic Games Storerotates its free game selection every Thursday at 10 am CT. While there have been secretive, surprise releases periodically every year, the release of new games is often accompanied by the announcement of the following week’s games, which is a great way to keep attention on the service.

Epic Games Store users can now claimArk: Survival EvolvedandGloomhaven, with the former being a dinosaur survival sandbox game and the latter being a dungeon crawling adaptation of the popular board game. Both games see players invest hundreds of hours in them to explore all the content, so when these games are free, there’s really no arguing with that. Both games are easy to recommend, but should someone wish to pass on them or just throw them in their backlog, they should remain aware that more is coming on September 29 at 10 am CT too.

TheDrone Racing League SimulatorandRunbowwill be free on the Epic Games Store from September 29 to October 6, at which time they’ll be replaced by another game (or games). TheDrone Racing League Simulatorplaces players in the field ofview of a droneand focuses on high-intensity racing based on tracks from the real-world Drone Racing League. This simulator also reportedly has the benefit of helping players understand how racing drones work in the real world, but it also allows for some game-y zaniness, some crashes and wrecks, and more.

For example, it features aSearch and Destroy game mode, which any gamer should be familiar with. At the same time, it features an onboarding mode that guides players through progression missions that not only train them in the game but match professional sets used by real-world pilots.

Runbow, meanwhile, is a platformer racer that features as many game modes like Run, Arena, andKing of the Hillas any traditional racing game. In fact, there’s even a single-player campaign that features over 140 levels. All in all, it supports 9 players locally or online, features 19 guest characters, and tons and tons of content. It seems the two games are unified by a theme of racing, but they’re not traditional racers either.
