WhileSquare Enixcurrently has multiple titles lined up, includingFinal Fantasy 7 RemakeandMarvel’s Avengers, it appears the publisher may have more up its sleeve. The comes via future content for next-gen consoles is hinted at through the recruitment website for Square Enix’s First Development Division, the team behind the aforementioned remake andKingdom Hearts 3.
On Square Enix’s recruitment website, projects listed includeFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeas well asKingdom Hearts 3, though the website also shows a brief amount of information for another project. Specifically, the project is noted on the website as a “‘next-generation action game experience’ that takes a step forward from the existing action game framework.”

Beyond this, the page does not any other information about the new project. Rather, it is simply suggested that the game will on thePS5 and Xbox Project Scarlett, which will both be home to five Ubisoft games as well. Furthermore, it is suggested that the upcoming game intends on breaking new ground within the saturated action game genre.
While there’s no telling what could be coming from Square Enix’s First Development Division on next-gen consoles,Final Fantasy 7 Remakewill be launching in less than four months. Already, Square Enix has given onlookers quite a few previews of the remake of what many deem to be one of the best games in the long-running series. Most recently,Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s official Twitter account previewedTifa’s Limit Break, also called Somersault, which lands a powerful kick on the opponent chosen to exact the Limit Break on.
AnotherFinal Fantasy 7RemakeTwitter account also previewedFinal Fantasy 7’s Train Graveyardin celebration of Halloween. Moreover, the designs of the Ghosts in the Train Graveyard were shown as well and have a spooky but cartoonish appearance.
It isn’t too much longer until gamers can finally obtainFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. However, gamers will simply have to wait and see what project, or projects, Square Enix has up its sleeves to transcend the “existing action game framework” outside any of the publisher’s current slated releases.
