Summary

It seems thatFortnite’s Item Shop will be experiencing some changes in the future, and some players can already see the modifications live on their accounts.Fortniteis a free-to-play game, so as long as players are able to download it onto their preferred platforms, they can play it. Players don’t have to spend money to get the game, but Epic Games is still able to profit from it due to its microtransactions system. Fans purchase V-Bucks, the in-game currency, and they can then spend it to purchase the Battle Pass, cosmetic items, orlevel up their accounts.

There’s no doubt that the Item Shop is where gamers spend most of their V-Bucks, as a new Battle Pass only comes out every couple of months and most players avoid having to buy account levels. The Item Shop is a gateway to thousands of cosmetic items. Players canaccess the Item Shop to purchase emotes, weapon wraps, harvesting tools, back bling, packs and bundles, and skins. It’s clear that keeping the Item Shop as easy to navigate as possible is of the utmost importance.

WhenFortniteBattle Royale first came out, the Item Shop was quite small and would only have a handful of items available per day. However, as time went by and the game’s player base increased, more cosmetics were released, and the Item Shop started to grow. It’s now so extensive that players have a difficult time scrolling through all its categories to find a specific item. Thankfully, Epic Games is testing a new Item Shop UI to make it much more organized, and ten percent of all players can already experience it.

It seems that the alternative Item Shop layout will allow players to quickly jump to the category that they’d like to view. This means that they no longer have to aimlessly scroll through the entire list to seewhat’s new in the Item Shopor find an item in particular.

This change has been applied to ten percent ofFortnite’s player base at random. This is so Epic can monitor fans' feedback and decide if it should make it a permanent change. Unfortunately, thelast UI change made toFortnitewasn’t a hit among most of the community, and it’s likely that Epic Games doesn’t want to implement a new change right away unless it gets back a prevailing positive opinion. At the moment, it is unknown when or if the rest of the players will get access to the Item Shop UI change.

Fortniteis available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
