In a new video,FortniteYouTuber Rigid Gaming explains that by damaging cars and other vehicles, players have a chance ofreceiving a Mechanical Partupon each time they deal damage. While a car’s “HP” will always be the same whether players damage it with a pickaxe or a gun, it looks like a slight chance of getting a Mechanical Part is rolled upon each hit, so, it seems most efficient to use a weapon like a Submachine Gun to deliver as many hits as possible for as many chances of receiving a Part.
To perform this trick, all players will need to do is tofind any Submachine Gunand any truck or car. Rigid Gaming shows that when using a Submachine Gun, players are able to deal much less damage at a much quicker rate compared to using a Pickaxe. This comes out to 70 chances of receiving a Mechanical Part with a Submachine Gun compared to just 30 chances with a Pickaxe. Upon conducting a few trials of their own, Rigid Gaming found that they only typically received 1 Mechanical Part when breaking a car or truck with their Pickaxe, but always received 3 to 4 Mechanical Parts with a Submachine Gun.
This new method will of course consume quite a lot of ammo, but it could prove to be handy during early-game or when players are in a pinch and could use the extra accuracy of a Mechanical Weapon upgrade. Additionally, when performing this trick, players should be careful not to blow up the car or truck they’re targeting as the blast will deal massive damage if they are too close.
A recent datamine just found thatFortniteplayers may soon have access to new ways tocraft the Primal Flame Bow and Mechanical Shockwave Bow.The crafting mechanic has shaken up theFortnitemeta quite a bit, and it will be interesting to see what else players discover about crafting as the season continues.
