Similar to many of its predecessors,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3includes the Zombies game mode. While Zombies are traditionally a TreyarchCall of Dutyfeature, Sledgehammer Games had a unique take on the mode for the latest title. LiketheModern Warfare 3Campaign, Zombies takes place on a massive map that resembles one found inWarzone. The huge space provides a range of ways for Zombies fans to play the game, and it dwarfs TranZit fromBlack Ops 2. ThisCall of DutyZombies fan came across a bug that resulted in an untimely death after being suddenly teleported.

Reddit user GarryH97 recently shared aCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Zombies clip highlighting an unfortunate bug. The clip begins with the player running along the border of the Exclusion Zone and killing a small group of zombies with a Carbon Fate blueprint.TheModern Warfare 3Vault Editionexclusive AMR9 shoots explosive rounds at the zombies, causing instant deaths. After killing seven zombies, the player is teleported out of bounds by a bug that seemingly made them fire at random just beforehand. As the player was transported out of the map, they only had ten seconds to return to the combat area. Having no recourse, the soldier is killed before they’re able to accomplish the Prestige Mastery challenge they were working on.
Despite the countdown never stopping, the video shows GarryH97 is able to return totheModern Warfare 3Zombies map, but their efforts are fruitless. As they reach their prior area, they’re transported back out of bounds, resulting in an inevitable death. It’s currently unclear if or how the Zombies fan could’ve escaped dying once they were teleported out of the combat area. GarryH97 isn’t alone in experiencing this game-ending bug, as other players have expressed similar stories. Because the player was lagging, their poor connection may have negatively impacted their gameplay.
While there are a handful of bugs in the latestCall of Duty, this Zombies one may be responsible for ending multiple late-game matches. The massive maps for Campaign andWarzonehave also had bugs like this, which suggests the map size adds more complexity to the back end. AsActivision continues to updateModern Warfare 3, this bug may be resolved in a future patch.
