There are four main valuesGenshin ImpactMika can bring to his team; ATK SPD buff, Physical DMG Bonus, Physical Crit DMG boost, and healing. However, each of these effects is granted through different means, which can lead to players making some mistakes when using Mika.

For example, the ATK SPD and Physical DMG Bonus are both granted via Mika’s Elemental Skill, but unlike the former that automatically applies, the latter requires a specific method to get. Mika’s healing inGenshin Impactalso only triggers in specific circumstances, so players shouldn’t use him as a healer if they can’t fulfill the required condition.
6Not Knowing How His First Ascension Passive Works
Mika’sfirst Ascension passiveincreases his teammate’s Physical DMG Bonus based on the number ofDetector Stacksavailable. Each stack increases Physical DMG by 10%, up to three stacks. If players unlock Mika’s C6, the bonus can go up to 40% instead of 30%.

However,after unlocking Mika’s C2, the initial hitforboth his tap and hold Skillguarantees one stackif it hits an enemy.
It’s better to rely on Mika’s hold Skill to activate this effect. It’s not easy to hit multiple enemies with tap Skill, while hold Skill would auto-target nearby enemies. Typically, players will get one or two stacks from Mika’s hold Skill, but if there are plenty of enemies nearby, then three stacks are achievable.
5Not Knowing How He Heals
Upon cast, Mika heals the entire team with a large sum of health, butafterward, the healing is only granted to the active character. Mika’s healing is somewhat similar toGenshin ImpactQiqi, where players must attack the enemy to activate the recovery effect. The young knight’s healingspecifically happens after a Normal Attack hit, and it triggers every 2.5s. The interval can be reduced by obtaining Mika’s C1.
The young knight’s healing scales with his HP, but since it’s only available through his Elemental Burst, the top priority is to first ensure he doesn’t have an Energy Recharge issue.
The healing provided by Mika is okay-ish. At level 10 and around 35k HP, Mika with a 35.9% Healing Bonus would recover around 2800 HP. This means the young knight isnot eligible for effectively wielding theOcean-Hued Clamartifact inGenshin Impactas only the initial cast’s healing can maximize the artifact’s offensive effect.
4Using Mika As A Cryo Enabler
Unlikeother Cryo supports like Rosaria, Kaeya, or Layla, Mika is not eligible as a Cryo enabler, especially against small enemies. Mika’s Elemental Skill can deal damage and apply Cryo, yes, but he’s not a reliable Cryo enabler as it only hits once every 15s.
For example, if Mika is supportingRazor inGenshin Impactwhile fighting Hilichurls, he can only help trigger Superconduct on the first two to four enemies. Afterward, once the monsters are defeated, Razor needs to rely on his own damage as no more Superconduct will be triggered until 15s later.
3Building Mika As A Sub-DPS
Not only bad as a Cryo enabler, butMika’s Elemental Skill is his only source of damage. Even at maximum level, his multiplier is still too low to make him a viable damage dealer. This means players should not build Mika on offensive stats like ATK and Crit, or artifacts like Blizzard Strayer. Additionally, players should also notuse Polearms that grant stats like Crit Rateand Crit DMG.

Instead, the young Knight should be wielding items that increase his HP to boost healing, or Energy Recharge to help ensure the availability of his Elemental Burst.
2Not Maximizing Mika’s Support
Thanks to his terrible damage, though, players can fully focus on making Mika a dedicated support. If players found his healing more than sufficient, then they can equip more supportive items like4pc Noblesse Oblige. This will help Mika buff the entire team’s ATK each time heuses his Elemental Burst.
The young knight can also use supportive weapons likeFavonius Lance. By investing in some Crit Rate stat, Mika can now help Battery his team, which further complements the Noblesse Oblige strategy.
1Using Mika Only For ATK SPD Bonus
Mika’s Elemental Skill grants an ATK SPD bonus according to his talent level. At talent level 10, he provides a 22% ATK SPD bonus, which is great considering this effect is not very common. However, the young knight’s main feature is that he’s adedicated support for Physical DPS. His Ascension passive grants a Physical DMG Bonus, while his C6 bestows a massive 60% Physical Crit DMG.
Because of this, Mika is best used to support Physical DPS. It’s not ideal to use him merely for ATK SPD Bonus as there are other units that can outperform him. For example, althoughGenshin ImpactAyatocan benefit from this buff, his Hydro DPS won’t be affected, and he’d be better off with other supports like Bennett or Yun Jin.
