A Reddit user named Serfo has posted a set of interesting images that compare some of the game’s iconic locations with the previous placeholder models. This interesting post attracted a lot of attention onGenshin Impact’s official subreddit as it gathered over 5.6k upvotes with many fans praising Serfo’s effort of getting images of 17 different locations from all over the world of Teyvat. Some fans have pointed out that this collection is another proof of how far the game has come, fromthe Anemo region Mondstadtthat was released back in 2020 to five enormous regions that are packed with unique characters and their stories.

Fans claim that the placeholder model for Fontaine, which can be seen in the last image, received the most changes out of any other region shown in the post. The region’s skyline which featured plain mountains has been transformed into a beautiful city-like landscape. Themain city of Fontainehas a very futuristic design which is reflected in the region’s affection towards technology.

The design of the whole Fontaine region seems to bea combination of 1910s France and a futuristic themewhich makes this nation stand out. Also, Fontaine’s entrance which also used to be a couple of mountains has been transformed into a gorgeous landscape that featured a large waterfall.

There is no information about how big Fontaine will be, however, considering that the previously released Sumeru region was larger than Liyue and Mondstadt combined, Travelers can probably expect a similar approach here as well. Players can soon expect a map expansion as recent Genshin Impact rumors have revealed that a new part of Fontaine will be unlocked with the upcomingGenshin Impactversion 4.1which should arrive in the second half of September or early October.

Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
