How to Unlock Substory 10: Coming Out of Her Shell
Substory 10: Coming Out of Her Shellis available as early asLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s Chapter 3 after Kasuga lands in Hawaii and completesSubstory 4, “Busted!,“which introduces the Poundmates feature.
To trigger “Coming Out of Her Shell,” players need to visit East Aloha Beach during the day, where the blue substory marker can be found. Here, they will find a hermit crab wearing a beautiful bejeweled shell and can start the substory.
How to Complete Substory 10: Coming Out of Her Shell
The adventure begins when Kasuga and Nancy meet a hermit crab with a beautiful jeweled shell onAloha Beach. Kasuga decides to help Nancy choose a gift for her new friend. To retrieve a flower for the crab, players must navigate toLittle Japanon West Sakura Street.
Near one of the palm trees on Momo St., Kasuga finds a patch of pink flowers and allows Nancy to select the perfect bloom for her crustacean companion. With the gift secured, they return to Aloha Beach to continue their quest.It must be daytime in order to progress in this substory.
Unfortunately, when Kasuga and Nancy return to the hermit crab, they discover a group of teens harassing the jeweled crab at the beach. He decides to handle this and rescue Nancy’s crustacean friend in the most appropriate way possible: by throwing Nancy at the group of lowlifes.
The player is prompted to choose with what force they wish to chuck Nancy at the enemies. Gamers should adjust the meter toperform a “Normal throw,”which willincrease Kasuga’s Intellect stat. Other types of throws are just as effective, but they will not increase any of his Personality stats.
This temporarily relieves the crab of her troubles, and Kasuga can head out again on his adventure. The substory then moves to a location near a palm tree onAloha St., where Kasuga encounters a group of three men discussing the treasures of a wrecked ship called the Olivia. Upon returning to the beach, he finds the crab again, now with its jeweled shell replaced with a tin can.
After following the group to the next location, Kasuga discovers they are the ones who had stolen the crab’s shell and are eagerly searching for other treasures they believe they’ll find. Kasuga confronts the thugs and is given another opportunity to raise one of his personality stats. This time, each of the three response options will result ina boost to one of Kasuga’s personality stats. Players have the freedom to select any of these options, each leading to a different stat increase.
After a short battle with the thugs, they give up the shell and escape, rewarding players withOlivia’s Jeweled Shell, which has no purpose other than being sold for$50. Additionally, completing this substoryunlocks Nancy & Olivia as Poundmates, expanding the support options available to players in battles throughoutLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
