A brand newAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsupdate is now live, and it gives players the ability to add an art gallery onto Blathers' beautiful museum. That said, fans will not simply be able to walk intoAnimal Crossing: New Horizons' art galleryimmediately upon installing update 1.2.0, as indeed they will need to unlock it first. Fortunately, with just a bit of instruction players should find it quite easy to get the museum art gallery inACNH.

The first step to unlockingAnimal Crossing: New Horizons’museum art gallery is to install the latest update and speak with Blathers. In this first post-update conversation, the adorable owl will indicate that he is interested in adding fine works of art to his museum, but players will need to lend a hand if they want him to pursue his interest further and open the art gallery.

Specifically, fans will need to wait until the following day, andIsabellewill note during the morning announcement that there have been reports of a suspicious character in the area. The suspicious character in question isAnimal Crossing: New Horizons’Redd, and players can find this shady fox wandering around their islands after hearing Isabelle’s announcement.

Once a fan has located Redd, they should then speak with him, and this conversation will eventually lead to the fox selling the player their first piece of art inACNH. Now, the player should return toBlathersand donate the artwork to him, and the next day they will find that the museum is undergoing a renovation. This renovation will take one full day, and the following dayAnimal Crossing: New Horizons' museum art gallery will finally be open.

After a player has unlocked the museum art gallery inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, they will then need to populate it. That is done by buying artworks fromJolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler, which fans will occasionally find anchored off of one of their beaches, but there is one important thing to mention: only one piece of artwork can be purchased per visit from Redd. Indeed, this means that it is going to take players quite a while to completely fillACNH’s museum art gallery after they have unlocked it.

Animal Crossing: New Horizonsis out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
