Summary
Crytek’s under-the-radar releaseHunt: Showdown 1896continues to be quietly successful in the online gaming community. Years after its release, Crytek continues to maintain the game’s unique PvPvE fusion with new DLCs, including skins, weapons, and more.
By far the most exciting of those updates are Hunter Skins, specifically Legendary Hunters. They have unique designs in both first-person and third-person, unique pre-game animations, and can occasionally provide additional camouflage in-game, depending on the colors in their outfit. Not every skin is created equal though.

Just recently, the Post Malone event arrived, and it does deliver one of the best every hunter in the game, especially for those who are already a Post Malone fan. But that’s not all. 2024 has been a big year for Hunt Showdown: 1896 in any aspect.

13Perchta: Dusk
Exclusive To Drau Perchta DLC
Eastern stories of the midwinter tell of a being that is neither woman nor beast who stalks the frigid hinterlands. She splits open the abdomens of her victims and leaves their entrails for the wild animals to feast on. Her name is Frau Perchta, and she is coming to Louisiana.
The Frau Perchta DLC technically comes with two Legendary Hunter skins, although they represent the same character. Perchta: Dawn and Perchta: Dusk both look about as cool as any player could hope for. Her mask is intimidating, and her clothes look fantastic. What elevates Perchta: Dusk is that, as one might expect, her color tone is significantly darker. Both her mask and her clothes move away from the whites of Perchta: Dawn into grays and blacks. It makes her much harder to spot, and therefore, much more dangerous.

12Scaramuccia
Exclusive To Commedia Della Morte DLC
For a theater performer who has starred in many creepy shows, nothing could be more traumatic than having his shows turn into reality, but for Scaramuccia, this was indeed a wish. He has scared people many times on the scene for a few coins, but now he can scare real terrors for bags of gold.
Wearing a triple-face mask, Scaramuccia doesn’t have anything short of the insane faces spotted in the corrupted towns. He has been training with fakemonstersfor so long that facing real nightmares does not seem to wake up the fear inside Scaramuccia.

11Corvid: Brood
Available Through Blood Bonds
Corvid hunters were added toHunt: Showdown 1896following the popularity of thePlague Doctor, who was an event-specific hunter. Both Corvid skins wear headgears similar to that of Plague Doctor, though they come with their own unique identities.
Brood is the nickname for Emma Davies, a woman who deeply dissected the heart of infection to learn its nature, though this cost her a lot. Sacrificing her morality to discover the truth about the Corruption has led Emma to the frontline of the war against the plague.

10Hex Breaker
Survived from the outbreak inNew Orleans, Hex Breaker is too arrogant to bow against the Corruption and the darkness it has brought with it. Wearing a shiny leather coat, Hex Breaker gives as much attention to his style as he cares about doing his job perfectly.
Known as the “man of many names,” Hex Breaker does have an evil side to his face, and he never tries to hide it. In fact, his evil smile does say something about his background, but for now, clearing the Corruption is the priority.

9Captain Laffite

Finding the correct path in darkness is a natural skill for sailors like Captain Laffite. Many sailors have managed to lead their ships to their destination safe and sound, but only a few survived sunken ships. Captain Laffite knows best how to guide a sunken sailor towards their destiny.
With a flintlock pistol attached to his waist, Laffite is ready for anything. If he has been able to survive death once, he can repeat the same again and again. Laffite has a pretty unique appearance, which makes him a great candidate forpiracy enthusiasts.

8Luz Mala

Hunt Showdown: 1896has never had a cross-over withThe Witcherseries recently, but no one can deny how the similarities between Silver Spur and Geralt of Rivia. While this pale-haired hunter does not depict Geralt, his face is quite close to that of the master witcher.
InThe Witcherfranchise, Geralt’s hair is pale white because of the challenging trials he went through to become a witcher, and inHunt Showdown: 1896, Silver Spur has pale hair because of a curse. And a curse is a magical effect. Could this all be a coincidence?

6Ghost Face

Released as a part of the Halloween expansion, Ghost Face soon turned into an iconic face inHunt Showdown: 1896, mostly because of his familiar face, which is heavily inspired by theScreammovie series, another Halloween classic!

Wearing a mask of two opposing faces, Hayali is a master of mischief and persuasion. He is one of the mysterious hunters with a vague background. And that’s what makes him more interesting to players, to know that it is not easy to learn about the secrets behind that deceitful mask.
Hayali’s spawn animation is also a representation of his mischievous manners, as he begins rising up just like a puppet, but then he shows his true self. This is also a reference to the fact that Hayali tries to control his enemies like a puppet, leading them to where he wants them to be.
4The Miko
Exclusive To Shrine Maiden’s Hell DLC
Bringing with her a sword that has lived in her family’s shrine for generations, The Miko made the trek to Louisiana to silence the mouths that give her weapon a voice. What that means is anyone’s guess, but what it means to players is that there’s a creepy new Hunter stalking the bayou.
The Miko benefits most significantly from her shawl, which drapes in tatters over her shoulders. The rough nature of her clothes helps her blend in with the bayou’s natural growth. However, as with many characters on this list, her brightly-colored mask will stick out in the dark recesses of the swamp, and her top knot just makes her head a bigger target.
