During New York Comic-Con on October 14, Kirkman replied, “We could,” when asked about the possibility of anInvincibleandThe Boyscrossover, perThe Hollywood Handle’s X account. Kirkman did not provide further details on the matter since it is only hypothetical. Given thatInvincibleseason 2needed two and a half yearsto follow up on its exhilarating first season, their priorities are probably ensuring the fans don’t have to wait that long again.

One possible problem is that the shows are presented in two different styles, withInvinciblebeing an animated show andThe Boysbeing a live-action show. At the same time,The Boysdid an animated show calledThe Boys Presents: Diabolical, so it’s not entirely out of the question that the two sides could meet one another. However, both have resonated with audiences because of their original take on the superhero genre. ForThe Boys, the point they make is that if superheroes were real, they would probably be worshiped like celebrities and would be horrible people behind the scenes. ForInvincible, they make the point that if one became a superhero, life would probably suck because they would lose most of their fights and put their life at risk.

This isn’t the first timeInvinciblehas been rumored to be crossing over with another superhero property, as it was reported thata possible crossover with Spider-Mancould be in the works. Adding Josh Keaton, who voiced the wall-crawler inSpectacular Spider-Man, to theInvincibleseason 2 cast fueled the speculation. Given the parallels between Mark Grayson and Peter Parker, it makes sense why they would be paired up like they did in the graphic novel.

Crossing over withThe Boyswould be complicated because, unlikeInvincible, the superheroes in the former world were not born with powers. They were made that way because of Compound V. Still, it would make for an interesting contrast between the two worlds. Also, ever sinceInvincible’s release, fans have loved the idea of seeingHomelander and Omni-Man on the same screen. Though that has happened in gaming, fans would love to see the two Evil Supermen clash, or worse, ally with one another.
