Electronic Arts is seeking to bolster the efforts of itsStar Warsteam hot on the heels of the launch ofStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, according to a job listing posted by the publisher earlier this month. The action-adventure title has already been enough of a success for EA and Respawn Entertainment that speculation for a sequel has started bubbling from fans and team members alike.
The job listing asks for an experienced software engineer to join theStar Warsteam in Los Angeles. Respawn, the development studio behindStar Wars Jedi: FallenOrder,is not mentioned by name, but the likelihood of the hire being for the developer is strong, as the publisher is asking for candidates with an investment in building third-person action adventure titles.

Jedi: Fallen Orderhas been a welcome return to form forStar Warsin gaming after the lackluster reception toBattlefront 2’s launch, wowing critics and audiences with a thrilling combat system and a story worthy to fit in the franchise’s rich canon. With the developer building off of its experience in buildingTitanfall 2’s fan favorite campaign, the action game launched in November andquickly became a top seller for EA.
Respawn has indicated thatchances of a sequel toFallen Orderare strongthanks to the positive reception the game has received, and while neither the studio nor EA have officially confirmed that a direct follow-up to Cal Kestis’s adventure is on the way, fans can likely expect another foray into theStar Warsuniverse within the next few years.
The split development strategy that allowed the studio to buildApex LegendsandFallen Orderat the same time also appears to be here to stay, with EA taking the opportunity to allow both games and teams to grow and evolve at their own pace afterthe company acquired Respawn as a whole in 2017. Fans responded to the buyout with trepidation thanks to the publisher’s less than stellar reputation with studio acquisitions, but with two successful releases since then, Respawn’s fortunes as an internal studio within EA so far have proven to be pretty positive.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderis out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
