The newest DLC forJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Rfeatures one of Part 2’s most memorable supporting characters, the German cyborg super-soldier Rudol von Stroheim. Since the game released late last year as a remake of the 2013JoJo’s Bizarre Adventurefighting game, Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have already added multiple DLC characters. Part 5 antagonist Risotto Nero debuted the game’s season pass in October withPart 6’s Weather Report and Father Pucchi (Final)coming as a free update in December. Now, the newest character to join the fighter comes from one of the franchise’s most popular installments.
Rudol von Stroheim features heavily throughout the second part of theJoJo’s Bizarre Adventurefranchise,Battle Tendency. Von Stroheim begins as an antagonist to Joseph Joestar and the main cast as a Nazi soldier performing research on the mysterious Pillar Men. As the story progresses, the German soldier comes to aid the Joestar group with battling the awakened antagonists, losing several limbs and replacing them with weaponized prosthetics in the process. Now, von Stroheim is bringing his advanced technology toJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R.

A trailer from Bandai Namco introducesAll-Star Battle R’s newest fighter, re-introducing players to Rudol von Stroheim’s boisterous personality and mechanized abilities. The trailer shows off several of Stroheim’s unique attacks, including firing his robotic fist as a projectile and making use of his chest-mounted gatling gun. The character’s eye and shoulder lasers also make a prominent appearance in his attacks, used in the manga asa weapon against the Pillar Men. Rudol von Stroheim is set to debut inAll-Star Battle Ron February 3 as the second part of the Season Pass.
Rudol von Stroheim’s addition to the game comes after the newestJoJofighting game has seen significant success for Bandai Namco since its release. TheJoJo’s Bizarre Adventurefighting game received a nomination for Best Fighting Game at the 2022 Game Awards, ultimately falling to Warner Bros’MultiVersus. The PC release of the game has also seena flourishingJoJomod community, both re-creating iconic designs from the anime and bringing characters like Saul Goodman and the Joker into the game.
All-Star Battle R’s recent release was joined by major changes for the franchise on the horizon. The anime adaptation ofJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Oceanrecently concluded as the final entry in the franchise before theSteel Ball Rununiverse reboot. The franchise’s ninth, and possibly final, part is also set to debut soon with theJOJOLands manga beginning serializationnext month.All-Star Battle Rserves as an homage to theJoJoseries' highest points as the long-running adventure seems to be nearing its conclusion.
