Kaveh is one of the most anticipated characters inGenshin Impact.His name was leaked a while before his release, and he’s been mentioned by many other playable units, most notably his roommate, Alhaitham. Finally, in version 3.6, Kaveh became playable, being a four-star Dendro character who uses a claymore.
Players looking to use Kaveh on their teams will definitely want to upgrade his talents and ascend him to maximize his combat use. To do so, they’ll need the materials listed in this guide.
Ascension Levels and Requirements
Every character in the game uses the same amount of EXP and Mora to reach level 90, which is the highest possible level. Here’s a breakdown of how much is needed between each ascension level:

Kaveh Ascension Items
To ascend Kaveh, players will need to spend quite some time around Sumeru, as his boss drop, local specialty, and enemy materials are all found there.

Gemstones - Where to Find Nagadus Emerald
As a Dendro character, Kaveh needs some Nagadus Emerald of varying sizes to ascend. This Dendro elemental gem can be found in many of the same ways as its fellow gems, like daily commission bonuses and from the Parametric Transformer. However, most of it will come from defeating bosses.

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Fungus Drops
While a handful of Fungi can be found in the Chasm, the vast majority can be found in Sumeru, where they are fairly common almost everywhere. Higher-quality drops can only come from higher-level enemies, as outlined here:

Boss Drop - How to Get Quelled Creeper
Kaveh’s boss drop ascension item is the Quelled Creeper, which is obtained by defeating the Dendro Hypostasis in Sumeru’s desert. Be sure to bring a Dendro character into this fight, as they’re necessary to finish it off in its last stage.

Local Specialty - Mourning Flower Locations
Players will need to spend some time in the valleys of the 3.6 Sumeru desert expansion if they want to ascend Kaveh. The Mourning Flower, his local specialty, is found in this area, specifically in the Temir Mountains and Asipattravana Swamp. These two areas contain the highest concentration of Mourning Flowers. Other locations include underground near the Samudra Coast and around Tunigi Hollow (also underground).

Talent Books - Ingenuity
Kaveh’s talent book series is the Ingenuity set. These can be obtained by completing the Steeple of Ignorance domain in Sumeru on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This trounce material is one of three that can be obtained by defeatingThe Guardian to Apep’s Oasis. This boss is found in the Realm of Beginnings domain, which is unlocked by completing the second chapter of Nahida’s Story Quest, “Homecoming.”
