Only a few hours after the game launched,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagahad the highest Steam player count of anyLEGOorStar Warsgamesever. 24 hours after its releaseLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagahad a peak player count of 82,517 players on Steam. This is an impressive feat when one considers the popularity of both licenses, the next closestStar Warsgame wasStar Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which peaked at 46,550. The second most playedLEGOgame didn’t even come nearLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, asLEGO Marvel Super Heroes,only had a peak of around 6,000 players.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagaalso enjoyed impressive physical sales numbers, as the game sold more physical copies in the UK during its launch week thanElden Ring. The game ended up only being beaten out byPokémon Legends: Arceusin physical sales in its launch week. One of the reasons that the latest iteration ofLEGO Star WarsbeatElden Ringin physical sales is likely owing to the fact that the game had its biggest launch on Nintendo Switch, where physical copies still sell better than digital games.
On March 16, Bandai Namco announced thatElden Ringhad sold more than 12 million copies. To put this into perspective, the entireDark Soulsseries at that point had sold 27 million copies. These numbers are extremely impressive when one considers that theSoulsgames used to be considered to be somewhat niche.
It has also been reported that around68% ofElden Ring’s sales were digital. This goes to show that many players are now deciding to purchase their game’s digitally, however, this takes very little away from the exceptional sales figures ofLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
In other news, aLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagafan found a unique way to play co-op on PC. The fan was able to tweak the game files so that they were able to play as player 1 on their laptop screen and player 2 on their second monitor.
