One of the main draws ofMarvel’s Avengersis the ability to team up with friends to smash AIM soldiers and robots in co-op. However, someMarvel’s Avengersplayers who first start up the game may be confused about how exactly to play co-op in the new game.

The way that most people will want to do it is by advancing far enough in theMarvel’s Avengersstory campaign to unlock co-op. Simply play through the story, and before too long, players will unlock access to the War Table.Marvel’s Avengersgives playersWar Tableaccess within the first couple hours of the story, and so it shouldn’t take too long at all to unlock it. From that point forward, it’s possible to playsomemissions in co-op, though many of the campaign missions are restricted to single-player only. Co-op is mainly for endgame content.

The other way players can unlock co-op inMarvel’s Avengersis by simply clicking the Avengers Initiative option in the main menu. However, this does result in someMarvel’s Avengersstory spoilers, and so it’s better for players to just unlock co-op naturally. Just playing through the campaign is also the best way to learn the gameplay mechanics as well as unlock all ofMarvel’s Avengersplayable heroes, but the Avengers Initiative option is there for those who want to start playing with friends as quickly as possible.

There are a couple of other things worth pointing out when it comes toMarvel’s Avengersco-op. For one, players can not pick duplicate heroes, which means that everyone has to be a unique character. And secondly, playing with real people is not required.Marvel’s Avengersgives players the option to play with up to three other AI companions if they would rather keep the game a solo affair.

In future, fans can expectCrystal Dynamicsto expand on the game with even more co-op content. It’s been teased thatMarvel’s Avengerswill be getting raidsof some kind, though more details on that are not available at the time of this writing.
