The aforementioned blue blocks have been a bit pesky in parts ofMetroid Dreadthat could be encountered on the way back to Artaria. They even bar one’s passage to a late-game region, making the Screw Attack vital to progression.

How To Find The Screw Attack Upgrade In Artaria

Just to the west of the center of the Artaria region, there will be a vertical room with a statue holding an Item Sphere. This container holds the Screw Attack upgrade, so blast it open and jump into the statue’s hands to obtain it.

The Screw Attack is an awesome upgrade that will allow players to take down enemies without needing to shoot them. Simply jump into smaller enemies (mostly works on airborne ones smaller than Samus) while one is doing a spin jump to hit foes with some electrical damage. This move can also allow one to attack straight through the electrical energy shields some creatures possess.

When it comes to smaller enemies, it’s far more efficient to kill them with the Screw Attack than to shoot them.It is worth mentioning that players need to be doing a spin jump (jump diagonally to activate this) to perform the Screw Attack. A successful spin jump can be confirmed by seeing Samus turn into a compact ball briefly during an arcing leap.

Where To Go After Getting The Screw Attack

After getting the Screw Attack upgrade, players can explore around the world to break through Screw Attack Blocks they find to pick up lesser upgrades here and there, like Missile Tanks and other collectibles. However,to make progress into the small late-game region known as Hanubia, players will need to pierce some of the blue blocks in Ghavoran.
