PopularTwitchstreamers Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo and Maya Higa have been dating for around two years, but the couple has decided to call it quits. As a result, both Mizkif and Maya will be taking a long break from Twitch in order to process the breakup and take care of themselves.
Mizkif and Maya met in 2019 when Mizkif posted a comment on one of Maya’s PC build videos on YouTube. In June 2019, Maya traveled to Austin, Texas to visit Mizkif, and shortly afterward, the twoTwitchstreamers were living together. The duo confirmed their relationship in an unboxing YouTube video posted on Mizkif’s channel in late 2019.

Originally keeping their relationship a secret, Mizkif and Maya had a hard time hiding things when Maya started streaming from Mizkif’s house. It wasn’t long after confirming their relationship that Mizkif and Maya started co-streaming together. During these streams, the two would share stories, crack jokes, and embarrass each other in front of their collective fan base.
Mizkif confirmed the breakup with Maya in a Twitlonger posted on September 14. The Twitlonger confirmed that the breakup didn’t come as a result ofcheating, drama, or a specific event. The statement also confirmed that both Mizkif and Maya will be taking a break from streaming, with Mizkif later confirming with a fan that he’ll be taking a long break.
Mizkif is a popularTwitch streamerwho takes very few breaks from the platform, with the most recent being in early 2020. He took a 10 day break in February of last year and prior to that, his last hiatus from Twitch was in August 2018. Maya hasn’t streamed as regularly as Mizkif, but she hasn’t taken a break from the platform since April 2021.
Neither Mizkif nor Maya have confirmed when they will return to streaming after this hiatus. Judging by the specifics from the recent Twitlonger, the soonest that fans can expect to see them is September 27. Although Mizkif and Maya have both agreed to separate, the extended break appears to be a result of their strong feelings for each other and the resulting emotions spurred on by thebreakup.
Because there are severalMizkiffans that are also fans of Maya, a portion of the Twitch community may be divided by the split between the twoTwitchpersonalities. The two streamers have confirmed that they both care about each other and are supporting each other through the tough transition to singlehood. The two thanked their fans for supporting them through two of the best years of their lives.
