Judging from looks only, Namor may not be the most fearsome foe Marvel’s heroes have encountered, yet the latestBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevertrailer reveals an interesting detail about the Talocan King.
The newBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverteaser is possibly the final preview MCU fans will get until the movie’s premiere, with this latest preview also offering some new insight as to who is the woman under the costume. The film’s director, Ryan Coogler, has already confirmed most ofBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevertakes place one yearafter T’Challa’s in-universe death, and this 45-second trailer instead focuses on the nature of the conflict between Wakanda and Talocan.

Marvel Entertainment posted both this and the newBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevercharacter posters over the last few hours. The trailer will certainly command more attention due to itunveiling Namor apparently covered in vibranium, a trait or superpower his comic book persona never had. There’s also an extra shot of Riri Willaims flying high as Ironheart, but more crucially is a shot of the new Black Panther using a particular type of weaponry.
Most people who saw the firstBlack PantherorAvengers: Infinity Warwill remember that Shuri’s weapon of choice is the Vibranium Gauntlets she created. These weapons fire sonic blasts at her enemies, something that should dispel any doubts about who’s under the suit. As for Namor, besides the familiar image of him flying with tiny wings on his ankles, it’s clear he’s here to capitalize on the apparent power vacuum left by T’Challa’s death.
The newBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevercharacter posters don’t bring anything shockingly new to the table - with Namor wearing his Talocan crown and being the standout among Shuri, Queen Ramonda, Nakia, Okoye and M’Baku - but there’s no Black Panther headshot to be found. Even though it’s arguable whether Marvel Studiosgave away the new Black Panther too soon,Wakanda Forever’s mystery appears to be centered around the coveted vibranium resources both Wakanda and Talocan might possess.
ManyBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreveractors have jokedthat fans are nowhere near figuring out the new superhero’s identity, although Marvel Comics back up Shuri picking up the mantle from her brother. Either way, there are still bound to be a few surprises packed in before the MCU goes on a small break until 2023.
