Total War Warhammer 3is the upcoming, and reportedly final, installment in theTotal War Warhammerseries. New trailers and evensome leaked detailshave recently been coming in regarding some aspects of the game.
The most information players have aboutTotal War Warhammer 3centers around two of the upcoming factions: Kislev and the Legions of Khorne. Kislev has actually been in the game as a faction since the firstTotal War Warhammergame, but currently exists as an Empire faction. That is, all the cities and units are the same as the Empire faction. That will change inTotal War Warhammer 3.

Kislev debuted with thefirst reveal trailer ofTotal War Warhammer 3, but few details were given. More details were shown off in the first gameplay Showcase. Now a new trailer is out showing off the armies of Kislev in a bit more detail. Troops are shown off up close as they engage with demonic armies, including every kind of unit. Pistoliers with shields make an early appearance, as do riflemen. The twist with these riflemen is that they wield rifles that double as battle axes, presumably good at range and at least decent up close, unlike most ranged infantry.
A good amount of the trailer focuses on the most impressive troopsshown in theWarhammer 3announcementtrailer: the cavalry. While Kislev does have traditional heavy shock cavalry with impressive feature crests adorning their riders, these are not the main focus. That would be the literal bear cavalry, with polar bear riders tearing into foes. If the footage is anything to go on, these are not merely shock cavalry, since the bears can still shred foes in melee. What looks like a snow leopard is also shown, although whether this is a hero or summoned unit is unclear.
There’s only one war machine, consisting of gunners riding in a chariot pulled by bears and ice magic. Warmachines and guns play anessential part in factions like the Skavenor the Empire, but how useful they are in Kislev remains to be seen.
Finally, the lords look to be useful both in martial combat and magic. Some can bolster troops and ride bears into battle, and others wield ice magic both up close and from afar. This versatility may mean Kislev could beone of the best factions forWarhammerbeginnersof all the factions in all the games.
