Sojourn, one of the three new heroes added at the launch ofOverwatch 2, could be getting a nerf at the start of Season 2. As the most recent addition to the Damage role, Sojourn is meant to help provide DPS to her team through her suite of abilities, including her devastating Railgun. However, it appears that it might be too powerful in its current state inOverwatch 2.

This news about a possible Sojourn nerf came via an update from a developer at Blizzard, and it could mean some substantial changes to the meta moving forward, depending on the extent of the potential nerf. In a recent blog post forOverwatch 2, Jared Neuss, Executive Producer, provided an update on Season 1, specifically talking about a patch that had been rolled out for the game. While the blog mostly kept to changes made in the current season, including severalnerfs to otherOverwatch 2heroes, the dev hinted at more possible changes coming soon.

Specifically, Neuss revealed that Sojourn, one of the most powerfulDamage heroes currently inOverwatch 2, could be getting a nerf in the coming days. According to the post, Neuss said, “We’ll be talking more about those Season 2 changes (including some for your favorite cybernetically-enhanced Canadian) soon….” Unfortunately, the developer did not detail what those changes might look like, only revealing that they were in the works.

This tease from the developer is no doubt exciting for some players, as numerous fans have been wanting changes made to the character for a while. In fact, a number of players believed that Sojourn should have received a nerf in the midseason patch for Season 1. While the specifics of the upcoming alterations were not mentioned, it is not hard to understand why Blizzard might be looking into nerfing the character. Her powerful alternate fire on her Railgun along with her Disruptor Shot allows her to eliminate squishy enemies quickly, while her Power Slide makes her difficult to kill. In addition, nearly every team in theOverwatch League 2022 Grand Finals Championshipused the hero, evidencing her power at the game’s highest levels.

Fortunately, Season 2 ofOverwatch 2launches on December 6, so fans should only have a short time to wait until they find out more details about this potential nerf. In addition, Neuss revealed that they were planning other changes to the hero balance. While he did not note any specific characters, this could mean somelesser-performing tanks like Junker Queenand Doomfist might also be getting buffs in the coming weeks. However, fans will have to wait until Blizzard officially reveals more to know for sure.
