Overwatch 2has officially revealed the Amaterasu Kiriko skin, a new Mythic-tier skin for Support hero Kiriko that will be available in the game once Season 3 kicks off next week.Overwatch 2Season 3 is expected to drop on Tuesday, February 7, bringing with it brand-new content for fans of Blizzard’s hero-shooter to check out.
Blizzard hasn’t revealed a ton of new details aboutOverwatch 2Season 3 beyond the fact that it will feature abrand-new map called Antarctic Peninsula. The new Antarctic Peninsula map is the first new Control map sinceOverwatch 2’s early access launch. It features a massive icebreaker ship, underground mining tunnels, and more for players to battle it out on, not to mention penguins to interact with and a fishing mini-game.

The Antarctic Peninsula map is Season 3’s headlining new addition, but as one might have guessed, the season will also feature plenty of cosmetics for players to unlock as well. Each season ofOverwatch 2so far has included a Battle Pass with a Mythic-tier skin as the ultimate reward. The Amaterasu Kiriko skin is the latest to fit the bill, givingKiriko and her fox companiona significant makeover. Like other Mythic skins, players should be able to customize the Amaterasu Kiriko skin to some extent, though details on that will have to wait for a later date.
The firstOverwatch 2Mythic skin gave Genji a new look, while the Season 2 Mythic skin madeJunker Queenlook like Greek mythology’s Zeus. So far, Blizzard has issued a Mythic skin to one character in each of the game’s classes, so it will be interesting to see if it sticks with this pattern for Season 4. If so, then one can expect a Damage hero to be next in line for a new Mythic skin, but it’s possible Blizzard is doing this at random or simply going with characters whose Mythic skins fit with each season’s theme.
It will be quite some time beforeOverwatch 2fans learn about what Season 4 has in store. For now, the focus should be on wrapping upOverwatch 2Season 2and kicking off Season 3. Season 3 is coming on February 7, so more information on the new Battle Pass and other details should come to light in the days ahead.
Overwatch 2is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
