These new physical re-releases are being handled by Limited Run Games, a company that specializes in creating brand-new physical versions for gamers who prefer boxed copies to digital libraries. These editions come in different forms, ranging from a simple box and game disc to a special collector’s edition that features merchandise and items based onPersona 4 Golden.
While the original game first released on PS Vita in 2012,Persona 4 Goldenwould eventually be brought to modern platforms, starting with a PC eight years later on Steam. 2023 sawGoldenported to the previous two console generationsback in January, joining bothPersona 3 PortableandPersona 5 Royalin becoming multi-platform releases. With these games now available on all major platforms digitally, Limited Run Games is giving fans the option to get a physical version of the game.

LRG’s physical version ofPersona 4 Goldenis available for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, with these special editions comparable toLimited Run Games' physical release ofPersona 3 Portable. Pre-orders of these editions will run from October 27 to December 10, meaning there is a limited window to pre-order these items. There’s the standard box and disc format, priced at $34.99, as well as the Grimoire Edition. This version offers a physical copy inside a SteelBook with a special box and slip cover, with the box based on Le Grimoire, the Persona summoning compendium. It is priced at $69.99.
The final version of this release is the special Midnight Channel Edition, priced at $199.99, and it includes a lot more merchandise. This edition includes the aforementioned items, but it also has a special Lenticular Midnight Channel TV box, soundtrack CD, a display case, metal Teddie statuette, pin, trading cards, a shadow box based on the All-Out attack, glasses, and even a photo of the Investigation Team taken duringthe ending ofPersona 4 Golden. LRG will include an individually numbered certificate of authenticity shipped with every purchase of this edition.
The time between the pre-orders of the game and the items actually being shipped by Limited Run Games can be at least a few months. According to the site’s FAQ page, standard editions can take between four and six months between pre-order and shipment, with collector’s editions taking between eight and ten months. As such, it will be a while before fans get these editions, with the earliest possible shipping date being April 2024.
