With the fall season officially in swing, onePokemonfan has taken some inspiration from the weather and created an autumn-themed Leafeon piece of art. The art is charming and the community is responding well to it.

Leafeon is one of the later additions to the Eevee evolutionary line, joining the games in the fourth generation. Like most Eevee evolutions, Leafeon is very popular amongPokemonfans and has been the subject of endless pieces of fanart.

Pokemonfan MythRava shared their art with thePokemonfandom of Reddit, and is gaining quite a bit of praise for the depiction. Instead of Leafeon’s iconic green, tan, and brown color scheme, the Leafeon’s colors have changed to primarily tan and brown, making it blend in wonderfully with fallen autumn foliage.Pokemonhas previously seen Pokemon that change their appearance based upon the seasons inDeerling and Sawsbuck, so it would be an interesting addition to see a variant of Leafeon that sees its coloring and design change as the seasons pass.

Fans in the comments of the post were quick to heap praise on MythRava, with several noting that it would make sense for this to be theshiny variant of Leafeon. The difference between a shiny and standard Leafeon is quite minimal, and it can be difficult for some to spot the difference at first glance. Going with a color scheme from a different season would certainly set the two Leafeon styles apart, even if it didn’t change colors with the seasons of the game.

With hundreds of Pokemon being added to the roster over the course of the franchise, fans have a nearly-endless well of ideas to draw inspiration from. Unique versions of Pokemon are a popular take in the series' fanarts, particularly when fans take an existing Pokemon and change its typing, and subsequently, their design. While most Pokemon’s designs seem to be set in stone in the series' canon, the games have been adding newPokemon variants based upon region, often giving classic Pokemon a major overhaul in appearance. With Eevee’s evolutionary line being popular since the start, it’s entirely possible that something similar to this autumn Leafeon design could appear in a future game or even the anime at some point in the future.

Seasonal variants ofGrass-type Pokemonthat have been inspired by plants makes a lot of sense, but it remains to be seen if Game Freak introduces more seasonal forms. In the meantime, maybe an artist like MythRava will think up designs forPokemon’s Leafeon based upon the other seasons of the year, as well.
