APokemonfan has created an alternative version of Quilladin. ThePokemonfirst made its debut inPokemon XandYin 2013 and is the middle stage evolution of the grass-type starter, Chespin.

Chespin may not be as popular as other grass starters like Bulbasauror Rowlett, but the spiny-nut Pokemon has still gained a dedicated following. This is in part thanks to its adorable personality and cute appearance.

On Reddit, Pokemon fan Pokobon has posted their interpretation of how they would have designed Quilladin. For Chespin’s middle evolution, Pokobon has forgone the round, stubby appearance and opted for a look that’s more in keeping with the Gen 6 starter. The original ball shape of the Pokemon’s body has been converted to a face covering, with the rest of the monster having an elongated look that could easily flow into Quilladin’s final evolution, Chesnaught. Some commentators seem unsure about this take, but the consensus from fans is that this is a highly enjoyable spin on the mid-stage pocket monster.

Customizing The Pokemon Company’s designs isn’t the only way fans show love for the series. Throughout the month of May,one fan is posting a daily drawing of Pokemon favorite Mayas she travels around the Pokemon world with Munclax and the rest of her party. At the time of writing, two batches have been shared, each containing many positive comments about the art style and the situations May is facing.

As fans continue to post their own art based on the hugely popular franchise, The Pokemon Company is hard on the mainline series. The Japanese company recently confirmed thatPokemon Home functionalitywill be coming toPokemon Scarlet and Violeton May 24. Along with this, folks who have the mobile version of Pokemon Home will be able to download all three of the Generation 9 starters, with each having their own unique hidden ability.

Once the link between Pokemon Home and the latest Switch games is complete, all eyes will turn to thePokemon Scarlet and Violet:Hidden Treasure of Area ZeroDLC. This add-on will be split into two parts, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, with the first part expected to release this Fall. The Teal Mask will send players into the land of Kitakamiwhere gamers can play through a new area and catch monsters not currently seen in the Paldea region.
