A talentedPokemonenthusiast has drawn a piece of art reimagining what Gholdengo and Gimmighoul would look like in the style ofPaper Mario. Some members of thePokemoncommunity have been flooding Reddit with images and videos of their artwork. Recently, onePokemonfan turned Fuecoco into a futuristic robot, while another created humanoid designs for both the regular and Galarian Corsola.

Gholdengo is a Steel/Ghost-type Pokemon that made its debut in the ninth generation in November 2022.This unique generation began withPokemon Scarlet and Violetand expanded with the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC earlier this year. Gholdengo seems to be made up of coins, which give the Pokemon a golden and cylindrical appearance. It evolves from Gimmighoul, a Ghost-type creature that was introduced during the ninth generation of the mainlinePokemongames. Though the bipedal Gimmighoul has two forms, only its Chest Form can be caught in the Paldea region.

An imaginativePokemonfan, who goes by TimDrawsStuff on Reddit, shared an artwork in honor of Gholdengo and Gimmighoul. The piece takes the Paldean versions of the two Pokemon and converts them intoPaper Mariocharacters. Unsurprisingly, a number of fans took notice of this artwork, showing their love for the Pokemon’s cartoonish style.

The piece features an animation with Gholdengo and Gimmighoul bobbing up and down like characters from thePaper Marioseries. In the comments, one Reddit user expressed their general love for the Pokemon’s appearance, while another stated they would seriously play a mainlinePokemongame made in this art style.

This is not the first timeTimDrawsStuff has drawn Pokemon in thePaper Mariostyle, and they have previously shared artwork imagining what Clodsire and Wooper would look like if they were in aPaper Mariogame. The artist has also drawn Nacli and its evolutionary line to simplify their features into a more cartoonish style. It will be interesting to see more Pokemon illustrated in this style in the future.

Creativity is the way some members of the ever-growingPokemoncommunity show their love for their favorite pocket creatures. Recently, one committed fan indulged in the idea of fusing Beedrill and Magnemite into a singular monster, and another person crocheted all of theGeneration 1 Pokemonwhile maintaining their simple design. Fans will always find new ways to celebrate Nintendo’s long-lived franchise, including everything from custom video game modes to artwork to Pokemon-themed cakes.
