Pokemon GOis now in its sixth year of activity, and the developer, Niantic, is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down with the game’s variety of events and content releases. The so-called Community Day serves as a prime opportunity to do monthly Pokemon highlights, and Niantic has just revealed what April holds in store for its players.
Namely, Niantic just issued a big announcement featuring Stufful, the Flailing Pokemon, as the star ofPokemon GOCommunity Day for April. The opportunity to catch substantially boosted numbers of Stufful (both regular and shiny) are just one of the boons coming up this time, as Niantic also detailed some major changes to how Community Day will work moving forward.

The adorableStufful is a Gen 7 Pokemonthat only recently became available for capture inPokemon GO, making it a prime candidate for April’s Community Day. All players who capture Stufful and manage to evolve one during the Community Day (or up to two hours afterward) will get a Bewear with the exclusive Drain Punch charge attack, though note that it will take a whopping 400 Stufful Candy to do so. The April Community Day will be taking place on Saturday, April 23, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM local time.
Experienced players will notice that the Stufful Community Day will last for three hours only, which is a marked departure from the previous Community Days' six hours of playtime. Whereas thePokemon GOMarch Community Dayfollowed the old event format with six hours' worth of time for players to participate, April’s Community Day will be different. According to Niantic, active community members only very rarely participate in events for longer than three hours at a time, and their goal is to bring the community together within a shorter window of time, instead.
The April Community Day is just one of manyPokemon GOcontent releases planned for 2022. Featuring a wide variety of event bonuses such as 3x the Catch XP, 2x Catch Candy, boosted Lure Modules and Incense, and some special surprises, the event ought to be enticing for mostPokemon GOplayers. Those who want to go the extra mile will have the opportunity to spend $1 to unlock the Community Day Special Research story, featuring additional challenges and unlocks.
The Incense boosts, in particular, may serve to temporarily alleviate thepermanent Incense changes that Niantic dida while ago. Specifically, Niantic reverted the game changes originally put into place due to the COVID pandemic, and were supposed to promote social distancing and even allow players to play from home. While April Community Day won’t outright fix these problems, it may reduce the outrage to some extent.
Pokemon GOis available now on Android and iOS devices.
