Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will soon be able to add over two dozen powerful critters to their collections, as The Indigo Disk will host up to 25 returning legendary Pokemon when the DLC goes live on December 14. The news came over a week beforePokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers set out for the Blueberry Academy, the main setting of the new expansion.

In the lead-up to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’s release, The Pokemon Company confirmed thatpast starter Pokemon across multiple generationswould be made available in The Indigo Disk. However, it was later clarified that players would have to undertake some tasks at the Blueberry Academy and the Terrarium to have a chance to encounter them. Similarly, each of the returning Legendary Pokemon will be able to be captured via static encounters inPokemon Scarlet and Violetthanks to a new character called Snacksworth. The academy staff member will give snacks for completing specific tasks that players can use to flush out and take on Legendary Pokemon from multiple regions.

In total, 25 returning Legendary Pokemon will be able to be captured in the Paldea region, thanks to Snacksworth’s contributions.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers looking to hunt and catch these powerful marks will want to stock up on as many Ultra Balls or Dusk Balls as possible and ensure that their team’s strengths and weaknesses are accounted for. From the legendary birds of the Kanto region to the cosmic Pokemon that called Alola home for a time, classic legendary Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Lugia, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in Paldea, as shown by a final trailer Nintendo released for The Indigo Disk. In addition, threelegendary Pokemon from Sinnoh, Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai, will be available via 5-star Tera raids and via Mystery Gift before the DLC arrives.

Returning Legendary Pokemon Coming In The Indigo Disk DLC

While Urshifu was not shown in the trailer, Kubfu will likely be able to evolve into it in The Indigo Disk, though the method remained unknown at the time of writing. Despite this lengthy roster, andall the new features coming in The Indigo Disk, some Legendary Pokemon such as Heatran, Cresselia, Zacian, and Zamazenta were left out. But, these Pokemon can be transferred over toPokemon Scarlet and VioletviaPokemon HOMEand a link to another game, such asPokemon Legends: Arceus.

Only time will tell if more of these Pokemon will be available for players who do not have access toPokemon Homeor pastPokemongames. But, between the return of these legendary Pokemon andan ongoing Mystery Gift event, anticipation for The Indigo Disk is high amongPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers.
