It was assumed that theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3PS5 Slim bundle would be pricier than the standard PS5 Slim, as has been the case withother PS5 game bundles, but now it’s looking likeMW3may be free with purchase.
What’s interesting about this PS5 SlimModern Warfare 3bundle is that it comes after Microsoft has completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It’s likely that this deal was inked well beforeMicrosoft closed its Activision Blizzard acquisition, and is therefore a remnant of a pre-existing deal between theCall of Dutymaker and PlayStation. In the future, it’s more likely to seeCall of Dutygames bundled with Xbox consoles, though fans don’t have to worry about console exclusive content anymore.
Modern Warfare 3has PlayStation exclusive content, but it will likely be the lastCall of Dutygame to do so now that the franchise is under Xbox control. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has said that there won’t be anyXbox exclusive content forCall of Dutygamespost-acquisition, with a goal of parity for the series across all platforms.
