Call of Duty: Vanguardcertainly has its fair share of bugs, something that has contributed to the delay of Season 2. Ahead of the second Season’s launch, anotherCall of Duty: Vanguardbug has been discovered, and it is easily one of the weirdest yet.

The bug in question joins some other strange occurrences in the World War 2-focused shooter. Thus far, gamers have seenAttack Dog corpses flyinginto the sky and corpses being controlled by enemy players. Now, it seems like sentient trees are a possibility. In a clip from Reddit user TGDPlays, a random tree can be seen moving around as if it was being controlled by a player inside Prop Hunt, and the process to make the object glitch out is shockingly simple.

The moving trees are found on theCall of Duty: VanguardmapShipment, and it simply takes a few direct shots to their trunks to cause them to freak out. Similar to something like the demon texture glitch, the tree begins to extend far away from its original location before moving back to its default placement. The odd bug seemingly applies to every tree that decorates the outside of Shipment, so any players that want to mess around with the goofy glitch should have no issue triggering it.

Further, it seems like Shipment is not the onlyCall of Duty: Vanguardmapwhere this can happen. According to Reddit user MrAchilles, this will supposedly occur when shooting at any of the other trees inCall of Duty: Vanguard. It remains to be seen if the tree issue will be fixed anytime soon. Sledgehammer Games is likely addressing plenty of serious bugs with the major Season 2 update, so solving harmless problems like this may not be at the top of the developer’s list.

The community reaction to this bug is interesting. SomeCall of Duty: Vanguardplayersare frustrated by the issue, as even if it is not game breaking, it serves as another example of how unpolished the game is when compared to older titles. Others, like Gen7lemanCaller, “love” the bullet-dodging trees since they have no negative impact on gameplay and players have to go out of their way to see the “goofy” bug. How exactly players will react to this immersion-breaking tree glitch likely depends on their feelings regardingCall of Duty: Vanguardas a whole, as the strange trees are not harmful on their own.

With another Redditor named gomd216 wondering if theNuma Numamap’s tree can be weaponized to catapult enemies, there will likely be some myth busting with the moving foliage soon. Given how divided the community is on the bug, though, it is certainly interesting.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
