AStarfieldplayer has created a ship that could offer a huge advantage in combat.Starfieldis finally out after a five-year wait, and is the biggest game launch in Bethesda’s history.Starfieldplayers have been praising the RPG, from the space combat and impressive graphics to the high level of exploration and customization.
One ofStarfield’s main features is the customization of ships, letting players unleash their creativity.Creating a ship inStarfieldis best suited to late-game players, as they should have plenty of credits, which are needed to get parts. Still, players who have just started their journey inStarfieldwon’t be left helpless, as the game offers affordable options. WhileStarfield’s ship creation system is pretty straightforward, players must analyze how the new parts affect the ship to make the construction viable. This is important because whileStarfieldoffers players a high level of freedom, not every ship can work. If the ship builder finds errors in the player’s schematics,Starfieldwill show what’s wrong on the screen. The player must correct these errors to finish their design.

Gamer Morfalath created aStarfieldship that reminded players of the “donut ship” fromKingdom Hearts 2, one ofSquare Enix’s best PS2 games. The player’s design consists of a square ship with an open center. Since enemies try to fire at the center of the ship, they will miss most of their shots. The same strategy became popular amongKingdom Hearts 2players back in the day with the aforementioned “donut ship.” To show how their creation works, Morfalath published a video on YouTube and revealed that it has the maximum dimensions of length, width, and height.
Starfield’s ship builder has been a hit, with players using it to recreate several classic sci-fi ships. Examples range from the Millennium Falcon fromStar Warsto ships fromMass Effect,Halo, and the Borg Cube fromStar Trek. Another player went a bit further andrecreated Thomas the Tank Engine inStarfield. OtherStarfieldplayers took a more authorial route, building ships such as the “flying condominium” and a ship in the shape of a capybara.
Creating ships inStarfieldis one of the most engaging activities in the game, along with the character creator. While the feature has already been impressive right from the start, the expectation is for it to get even better with newStarfieldmods released in the coming months. Some examples already exist, such as themod that improves ship building inStarfieldby giving players more control, making the experience easier and more responsive.
Starfieldis available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
