Right now, it’s safe to say that mostResident Evilfans are currently focused on the impending release of theResident Evil 3remake, which is set to launch in about a month’s time. However, withResident Evilbeing one of Capcom’s biggest franchises, it’s no surprise that the company is already working on what comes afterResident Evil 3. As it turns out, fans of the survival-horror franchise won’t have too long of a wait afterRE3to see the next bigResident Evilgame for themselves, as it’s apparently scheduled to release within the year.
This is according to AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, who is known for their accurateResident Evilleaks. For example, AestheticGamer leaked that theResident Evil: Resistancemultiplayer game was going to be a part ofRE3months before it was confirmed by Capcom. At any rate, AestheticGamer is now claiming that a newResident Evilgame will release within the next 365 days.

Unfortunately for anyone hoping for more details, AestheticGamer says that they won’t be revealing any more information until after theResident Evil 3remake is out. So those wanting to learn more about the newResident Evilgame will need to wait at least a month.
As for what the newResident Evilgame could be, it really could be anything. We can likely rule out another remake, as AestheticGamer has said elsewhere that aCode: Veronicaremake is not in active development. Considering this, it seems the most likely scenarios are that the newResident Evilgame is eitherResident Evil 8or aResident Evilspin-off title.
There have been some disagreements betweenResident Evilfranchise leakers aboutResident Evil 8. Apparently, Capcom has a newResident Evilgame in development that is using a medieval castle setting, will feature Chris Redfield andResident Evil 7’s Ethan Winters, and will use a first-person perspective. Some think that this isResident Evil 8, but others think that the game has been re-purposed as aResident Evilspin-off title instead.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to say with certainty whatCapcomis working on until the company itself decides to reveal more information. But just like AestheticGamer won’t provide any additional details about thisResident Evilgame until after theRE3remake launch, fans shouldn’t expect to get any details from Capcom until some time after April 3.
A newResident Evilgame is rumored to be in development for release on unspecified platforms within the next year.
